Not a fan of the mushy converter either , but I must say that the converter I got from ptc is totally fine for daily drivers. Think they said it was a 258Z 19 stator single disc. I'm at 4500 lbs street driving (more with an XL buddy ) 3.73s and 29.5 tires , can drive around all conditions more than keeping up with traffic and not have to go over 2500 rpm FWIW. I'm guessing you're at about 4000 lbs and 600 whp should get you to mid tens I think . Check the wallace racing calculators , it'll be a nice ride

Thanks for the input. PTC is on my short list of converter vendors.

My converter is on the tight side, was listed as 2400-2800 as I remember (it's going to be diff based on cam, weight, etc) but with the small cam (209/220) it's kind of nice to be able to lock it up at 50 MPH and still accelerate.
I had bought a Summit stage 2 cam for the new engine, but rethinking I would be better off with the Ghost cam, or even a step below that. I had the stage 2 in my truck, locking the conv. around 50 MPH I had to play footsy with the throttle to keep it happy. Tight conv, small cam, ad boost as needed, lol, makes a happy street car.

I ran the Ghost cam in the 5.3L (NA) when it was in my Cougar and I was very happy with it. When the 5.3L got built, I chose to keep the Ghost cam. I think I am going to ask that the converter stall around 2600-2800RPM. I know this is a bit of a moving target, but it seems like a good place to start.

My turbo is on deck to be built this week. Pretty excited about that!

I would personally reconsider the cam if response is one of your main objectives.
Also, the LoRam and A2W seems overkill, and again a step away from responsiveness.
Its a shame you can't fit a good A2A. I made 800 at the wheels with an ebay A2A and a 5.3 on 93 with water/meth.

He can fit a good air to air, he just has not figured it out yet. Always a way, sometimes worth the effort, sometimes not.

As they say, there is always a way. However, the question is how much am I willing to poke holes in this car? The only way I see a A2A intercooler going in is if I replace the endura bumper with a fiberglass reproduction, and then build an alternate means of support for it, which allows piping to come through.

I'm not willing to do that. I'd be happy to post detailed pictures to get all y'all's (that's the proper plural of y'all ) thoughts on fitting a A2A intercooler. The point of this post is to get constructive opinions.

Way over thinking it for the goals. A modest A2A ( nothing huge) and a simple WMI kit are plenty No flex fuel needed. No high/low ram needed. No A2W needed. A triple 12 style cam or modest stage 1 or 2 NA cam would keep it from being soggy on the low end. Get a good converter and tune tune tune. I went mid 10s in a 3800lb stick car at NINE psi on nothing but 93 driving to and from the track with AC.

Here's something I have been playing with, since I dont have room for an A/A-I dont have room for a tank either, so the small radiator would provide the fill, add a Bosch pump, have it come on with temps or boost. I can fit the I/C'er underneath, it has 3.5 in/out, use 90 deg 3.5 to 3" adapters. A guy on another site used this IC'er, runs down in the 8's, so it must flow pretty good. I just like stuff to look at under the hood, lol.

Do you have a name or link for that little radiator? What is the line outlet setup for?

Given the choices, could have nice all around street manners depending on how it builds boost.
