So what's your goal for 2026? Alright it's 2026 now, what are you looking to achieve this year. |
Have an LQ4 on stand: Hope to get that assembled with fresh gapped rings, bearings, cam and oil pump. ( Truck Norris cam, BTR springs, Melling oil pump in hand. Next purchase will be Johnson lifters, and Cometic .040" head gaskets, for about 9.9 compression ) Couple of 4L60 Take-outs on hand, I'd REALLY like to complete a succesful tear-down, refresh, assemble and install-and have it FUNCTION. Always wanted to learn my way around an auto trans, and NOW I have a good chance. Good running Suburban to test run a freshened up 4L60 in the fleet. will report back in this thread with progress. |
Some mid 3sec 60-130s and low 3/high 2sec 100-150 from a roll, all while keeping the motor together. |
Put a better clutch in the belair that’ll hold more than 8psi and turn it up. LS swap the Malibu wagon |
My goal is to run a 5.3x SBE then pull it and swap in the forged build, will be an LC9 with Summit crank/rods/pistons and TFS 220s. |
Looking to get the little blue bug in the 8's in 26. Looking to make 1 pass in my truck, and probably get kicked out. Since my track doesn't have a slip booth, they will have to actively pay attention, so I may get several passes 🤣 |
Both times I went to the track in 25, I hurt the engine. Maybe I should let a pro tune it…lol So, for 26… Paint rewire tune run a 7 dial in for 8.50 index make the field in 8.50 at YBNats. That will be the most difficult goal for 26, as the bump is typically in the 8.52 range for 32 cars. |
This winter I am: Installing a Hitmaster Clutch Tamer, Aluminum driveshaft, driveshaft speed sensor, oil temp sensor, doing some oiling system mods, improving my fuel system, installing the Holley Bluetooth module I got for Xmas and a tablet to display gauges on, and installing a new brake booster because mine died. Later in the spring, going to swap my spool and 4.30's for 3.54s and a Detroit TrueTrac. Goal for this year is to hit the mid 10's. If I can get it tuned and turn it up, maybe tickle a 9 if I am lucky. |
Finish the Huron TT setup on my wife's Trans Am. Had to redo the rad stand up situation to make things clear and hopefully finish that up today then is a lot of clean up stuff after... Hopefully. I think I know why there wasn't much info on this posted around because it really is shoving 12lbs of crap in a 10lb box! That and people go T6 for big power, but as my wife said when I jokingly proposed the option "two would be so cool because it would be symmetrical looking!" I can't say I don't disagree... Plan to post up a build thread since it was kind of a full overhaul of everything on the car that I hope not to have to touch again for another decade. After this have to figure out how crazy I need to go with my G8 that cracked a piece off the #8 piston I suspect from a fueling issue from my PWM fuel controller having fits. Just go traditional fuel system setup and hope maybe I can just get by with replacing a single slug and not the block. Providing none of the above gets crazy expensive, go through and do some general maintenance on a 68 Firebird I got during the summer. Has currently a Pontiac 350 in it and considered robbing dad's 400 from his GTO, but think it would be simpler/easier/cheaper in the long run to just stuff in an LS to eventually boost if one of the kids doesn't want it as they get older. Same kind of story for the 68 Mustang - Looking at potentially building both cars at the same time and have a 302 on engine stand for it that needs assembled, but considering price of what I would throw at it, I'd probably be disappointed in the power output and again just considering an LS in it. Coyote in it would be awesome but doesn't seem that the support to do a 10spd with one is an option yet through a Holley like setup. Local guy that bleeds blue has a LS3 he stuffed in an old F100 and has a 65 Falcon he is doing a coyote in and he even said with how simple the LS was he wishes he just went that direction over the Coyote. |
More track time, and deeper in the 10's NA IF that doesn't happen...spray it a little 150 hit. Really need my door bars installed too. |
Gonna actually spend some money on my old truck , bought myself a new turbo for Xmas. Still a 7875 but next gen billet 1.25 ar and 9 blade turbine should provide a reduction in drive pressure and a bit more power while also slowing spool time a bit ( I hope ) which will make it a bit easier to control on street tires . Gonna be a 3 track drag and drive up here and I could enter a class for trucks with street tires and no roll cage , would be a challenge to run 11.5 on street tires which would make it fun. Have some other non ls projects on the go also |
One more goal for 2026 is to get the “7 second club” monicker on LS1Tech |

Finish my build project and then run 1/8 mile at 4500 DA on no prep drag strip in September (the one day my local track will be open), shooting for a 6.50 ET. And do this on MT SS tires, 91 octane, about 15 pounds of boost. Before that, need to measure for driveshaft, have it built and install it, and install the coilovers front and rear when they arrive, align the car, fill all fluids, etc.. Then start it up and do the break in and then chassis dyno late spring or early summer. |
Finish without re-do's. I'm so sick of the re-do's this car has fought me every step of the way. Its haunted without a doubt. Someone must have died in the car. Try to get it on the road finally this summer, unfortunately this crappy gov has other plans so it might be stuck as a trailer queen. If that happens in 2026 then I have 1000 4.5" cutting disks .... just saying. Ain't kidding either. Yup this car pissed in my cornflakes again today, Anyone know a good exorcist? venting. |

I've heard that getting those next to your name was next to impossible for some reason? Am I reading wrong? I see a lot of people who have went faster than their "club" states by their avatar. I’ve known ProStockJohn for over 10 years. I just like to give him a little grief once in a while…:jest: |
lol you've known me longer than that. I could ask one of the superadmins if he can do it. Pete are you staying E85 non intercooled? So my '67, I'm probably looking at two projects this year, swap to the lighter all forged LC9 combo. That will drop ~100 lbs and the car with me will be 3080. It will be very tempting at that point to swap to a Smith Racecraft front steer rack. I think that might drop maybe 30 lbs also. If I do that swap, which I want, the front end of the car will have all the same nice parts as some other 1st gens that are running in the 4s in the 1/8th. The other list is some rear chassis stuff. I think my local buddy Eddie will be the go-to for that. Nothing extreme, just redoing the rear heim setup in back stepping up the size, and swap in a beefier track locater. I have the chute stuff too but I only plan to run 1/8th and the car stops no problem as is. |
Yes. Staying E90 (Ignite Red) and non intercooled. sounds like you have some great upgrades! Best to you always! |
Curious, how much timing are you running at max boost with that combo Pete? We're good over here, my boys are both in college and one restarts tomorrow and the other in a week. Tolerating winter but I'll be in NOLA for work early next week. |
Repaint my 99 GMT800 Silverado ecsb... Let's do it 2026! |
