Single Turbo Z06 Track Results!:
Talk about the "little" single kit that could. I think that I've just about got this kit nailed!
Well guys I got tired of using the "traction-limited" qualifier in my statements regarding track performance.. So tired that I risked my stock drivetrain and bolted on a set of 17" ET Streets. Made 3 runs, with two of them aborted. Aborted 1'st run and hot-lapped the 2nd...my only "clean" pass (first run on slicks ever). My ET wasn't earth shattering but my trap speeds were damn respectable.
Car ran:
1/8 ET:7.393
1/8 MPH:106.26
1/4 ET:11.1
1/4 MPH: 137.04 mph
You can do the math on how much hp its making in this trim (cant wait to screw 1 more lb of boost, full tune timing, and cooler air...ye-haaa!)
Dynojet numbers...lets just say they are north of 700
Cool thing was...well there are many cool things:
- Car was pulling 4 degrees of timing up top (no knock), due to hotlapping the car (no cool down time)
- Car wasn't on highest boost setting (had 1 more lb. to go)
- The launch on the clean pass was SOFT (3K)! bogged coming out of the hole
- Drove the car the 180 miles to the track, ran 5 clean street tire runs, 1 clean ET Street run (on stock drivetrain), unbolted the slicks and drove 180 miles home...all the getting 32mpg!...the definition of durability and reliability
- Mid-range is SOFT...haven't spent much time tuning there (just wanted to confirm that the system could hold up well under track conditions). It surpassed my wildest dreams
- Package is entirely repeatable for less than an system currently on the market (I'm pricing out components as we speak)...more to come later if there is interest.
I want to thank all those that helped me at the track that day: Raj B. (for his step-by-step instructions), George G. -aka Torxilla (for the loan of the ET Streets), The DBK (man can that guy shift), Roadrebel (my "Consultant"-extroardinaire), Mike E. (for the help at the burn out box). After my first clean pass, I will never run this car at the track on street tires again... ordered line lock this week, had DTE strut brace and LPE output shafts insalled...
I cant wait to have another go at it on 9/30 (Corvetteforum Milan Track Day)...10's coming soon

Yep, Earl has been making some great progress in the last two trips down to Norwalk. The car is a MPH monster for sure. Congrats again on all the hard work.
I'll try to get some of the clips up when I get a chance to go through the tape. I know there is one of the Raj coaching session runs on there for sure.

Car is clean, and stealthy that's for sure. You'd NEVER guess it was that fast if you happened to catch it at a light.
Now screw it to it!!

[QUOTE=y2khawk]Not to mention is looks completely BAD *** rollin down the E-way w/ that new hood!!

The trip did have that Smokey and the Bandit feel to it. Figure 10 trucks towing with 4 vettes and a CTS-V running as blockers hahahaha.
Not too bad when you figure the only person that got stopped at least made it to within 2 miles of the track before they got popped for a rolling stop.
