I have decided to spend the winter on a new project...seems I do this every winter. I get the bug here in snowy NY.

I think your right!! He had that "gleam in his eye" when he spoke of boost. Once you have heard one come on line and felt the pull its hard to forget....

Just out of curiousity what did the kit run ya brand new? In the spring twin turbos maybe an option just curious on the cost.

It DOES Fly.... like nothing I've ever ridden in!..or driven. No operational frusterations. The frusterations I had in the past we're limited to fuel pump issues and to much boost.


Not sure $ brand new as you cant get this kit new anymore. If memory serves it was $5795 for the base kit. This kit is a one-off larger kit with larger, better turbos and upgraded 42mm waste gates. I'd like somewhere around 5k.

Certainly not bored, and the only frusteration is what all us LS1 guys deal with, just cranked up a bit. CHANGING the plugs takes like 2 hours! There are 2 very difficult ones. I've only done it once, just to check them... its just not that much fun. The second complaint is, if you can beleive it...too much power. What I mean by that it I am now going through my second tranny and Im pretty sure I pushed some water at an upper boost level. This is NOT a kit or a situation where I am having operating problems by any means. Car idles perfect at 900 rpm, theres no stutter or stumble. I do take the car to church and out for ice cream with the car seats in back and the top down. I previously had an issue with using a Aeromotive fuel pump that was designed for race only and got the gas hot and caused cavitation. There are ZERO operating issues unlike some of the others I have seen complaining about problems w/ F/I (unless you consider having a minimum boost of 7-8 lbs a problem) My problems are limited to the power breaking parts...which to many isnt a bad problem to have.
The main issue, besides the tight space, is I have a 30th Anniv vert, which I dont want to continue to hack up. I like the new "open " trans am front end..the hood A Dee O has... etc and cant do that to this Poncho. Heck, I dont have all the gauges I need cause I want to keep the interior unmolested.
Most of all, I want to have a new winter project....this time one I complete on my own or at least with some local help.
There are NO ISSUEs with the performance of this kit. I honestly beleive that with BS3 and a pair of Hoosiers that 9's are in the bag. I dont know where Im at now, but its close...and on Nittos....and set a minimum boost (8-12 lbs) no less. More importantly for me, who likes a street car...40-140mph is, well, INSANE. I had video, but the cameraman was so busy hanging on all you see is floor.
