It's alive!! Well, after messing around for a good while putting parts together its finally done. I took a spin today and it feels like I have an extra gear when I hit 3K. Tires like to spin alot more too. I still need to do some tuning though. I don't want to take it too far before I have a chance to get fuel into it and timing out. Don't know if I'll need to pull timing with only 5 psi intercooled, but we'll see. I do expect to have to turn some fuel to it, I was running lean before the boost. So meet the newest member of the FI club. Thanks go out to Jeremy (Frcefed98) for the basics of the kit and some hints on what worked. And many thanks to all the members here (Blackbird, White Hawk, jrios, to name a few) that keep the info flowing in this board. It would have been pretty bumpy without all the good info. Details (not too radical, but it feels fun already):chug: : PD 6 lb head unit ATI dual intercoolers Bosch 39# injectors Racetronix in-tank fuel pump front mount dual FAL fans. SSQV bov PS- that whistling sound is kind've musical... |
sweet. looking forward to hear about your numbers and track times if you get any. |
COOOLLLLL:cool: Right ON! I can't believe you actually put the damn thing on Dennis:lol: I am glad its putting a smile on your face. I had a ton of reliable fun with the lil powerdyne. It was enough to get me into the 12.7 range up here, so it should be the same type of performance there in CO. I love it. Hopefully you can bring her back down and show it off to me. Do some logging and watch everything. What type of tuning have you done for now? Welcome to the FI board. J:D |
o sweet...congrats!!!! :) race me...race me now :emb: |
I'll race you:devil: |
Yeah, let's see...425 HP vs 725 HP. I think I'll pass. :emb:

J:D As for tuning, I just scaled my injector table for the 39's, and deleted the EGR. My laptop battery is toast so I haven't been able to log other than in the garage. I need to get a wideband and a new battery or a adapter for the laptop. Did you have to pull timing when you were running it? For now I'm not taking it past 3500 until I can get the logging done. I'll bring it by when I go back.:chug: |

Like I posted on another board. Congrats on getting it finished. Might have to make the 30 min drive to springs and see if you can take me for a ride. :) If you dont mind of course. By the way...mecham is up to 725 now!?!?!? I want a ride on your car too! Sucks ass...my car is all slow now. :emb: |
what octane gas do you run? way back when before ls1edit, mine would be on the edge with the stock tune at 5-5.5 psi non intercooled on 91 octane. I would say if you have 93 octane and the intercoolers you might just be ok. for sure datalog and just take it up a notch at a time. 4k, 5k, 6k and see how it does. |
im thinking he should be ok with 91 octane...as we are 6000ft + |
Yeah, I don't know of anyplace here that has 93. I'm thinking it may just be OK with the stock tune, and I doubt I'll need to go as far as 20 like most of the higher boost turbo and blower setups. I'm thinking 25 degrees might be good to start with. I'll get a battery for my laptop and take a look. |

Hey Dennis You might not remember me but we met once or twice at the Albuquerque meets awhile back. I always thought you were going to go the N/A route. Either way congrats. Did you drop in elevation any? If you're interested, APE is having a wideband group purchase for the LM-1. I myself am doing all the preliminary stuff, i.e. 12 bolt, clutch transmission and lots of other odds and ends. Hope to be hitting 12's with bolt ons come March or so and maybe give Jeremy a run for his money with some secret sauce . Frank |
March??? Damn son thats along time away, run for my money SHEEEEITTT. By that time I'll be done trying to go fast so you can have at it. 10's and thats it for me, you can have it from there......but when we have more fast SRT-4's at the track then LT1-LS1 f-bodies, I don't think I'll have to worry about you guys lol. Besides you have to beat Josh first and his single bolt on LT1, he's gone 12.99@110 so far. You bring em, I'll knock em down, why try to BEAT me when we can beat all the other non F-body cars together. J:jest: |

Frank I don't usually like to say much about what I haven't done yet, so I may not have mentioned I was putting together the blower system. We're about 6200 ft here so It's like I moved to Santa Fe in altitude. I looked at the LM-1 and I think the Zeitronix is a better buy for the money. The price would have to be really good for me to take one. I've got a price request in to APE though so we'll see. I'm waiting on a car adapter for my laptop so I can get some loggin in, so I'm basically at a stand still. |
