Wow that sucks.

I had heard of some of the early ones getting redone but I have never heard of anyone redoing theirs a few times, what's going on?

Yeah vortech sucks, their customer service sucks and nothing is ever thier fault. The 1st 2 lasted only a few miles. The one that just broke lasted about 6000 miles. It looks like the bearings behind the pulley let go. Thank god it happened just driving away from my house. Nothing got past the intercooler. I thought about going to a ysi trim. But then Ill have to go with the FAST fuel system. Im now going to run less boost through the blower and add more NOS instead. Its less tuning and it might wind up making more power.

Nothing wrong with your oiling system? I can call my contact at Vortech for you if you have good documentation of the problem.

Nice to note the aftercooler protects the motor from a headunit grenading.

My first one let go after something like 18 miles they replaced it and no problems with the second one yet. I can tell you this I spoke with Steve at Vortech and asked him to send me one with strait cut gears etc... He said that these are completly different then the first ones they cam out with etc...Well I can tell you this the first one was almost silent this one is Loud so I don't know what happened but if it holds I don't care. Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

I think you must have a kink in your oil system and your head unit is not getting any oil I doubt that 3 head units were bad.

I had one vortech unit to let go on me, but I was finally able to trace it back to an oil system issue. There is alot of room for error in the way the oil system is set up. Lots and lots of connections/fittings/etc. Might want to just bite the bullet and do a thorough inspection of all of them, return, valve, bypass, the whole thing. I've had no troubles since I replaced the first unit and solved the oil flow issue. A lack of a leak doesn't mean you can't have any oil issue.

Besides being a little slower than I would like (but hey, who isn't), the customer service people were pretty helpful even though they aren't overjoyed to hear from you lol.

Good luck with all the work, its not fun.

If I were you I'd take off every fitting from the oil pan to where it taps into your head unit and inspect and or replace the fittings and lines just to ensure that's not the problem.

By tracing back to the source you be able to find the problem.

Make sure your return line doesn't have any kinks in it. After I connected mine I had to test fit and recut so that when placed in the mounting bracket it would be a smoth transition from the supercharger to the oil pan etc... To long and it will kink on you. Good luck! Mine was never explained to me and is still a mystery to Vortech and me I think it was a bad bearing myself, but I checked the rotation of the S/C before running it and everything turned smothly no rough spots.
