Question on BOV's Since the sole purpose is to relieve pressure when the TB is closed, would it make sense to try and mount it as close to the TB as possible? Has anyone tried this? TIA Charlie |
Yaa putting it closer to the TB is good. I would not put it near the Turbo. But anywhere between the IC if you have one and the TB is prime. Look at it this way. If you have air in an air hoes. The air is pushing everwhere even if it is moving to the other end. If air can escape for a hole from the front or the rear of the line you will see presure loose any where in the line. Does that makes sence. |
Totally understand what your talking about. Like placing them in the bend of a pipe for a easier exit. My thought was having one close to the turbo, the BOV will have a slight delay as the TB blade closes it will take that second to build the pressure in the pipe, and thus getting the BOV to open, basically still making it a little more work for the turbo and engine. With the BOV mounted at/near as possible, the TB Blade, it would allow for an instant relief. |
