BUMP anybody,

smokinHawk Jan 22, 2005 11:27 PM

anoly person who used the 6.0's for turbo kit is Mike B. and as youve seen he's on a single.
Kurt from W2W has put a couple kits together using manafolds, he finished up Mikes, and did this other vette but i believe it had the vette manafolds and it to was a single.

Well hawk i would like some pictures of the flange he used on the headers and just how did he modify them. see i have a 408 iron block im putting together. Im thinking of 2 t63 turbos. I wanna run 9's. so im working on the combo to do that. I also have ported 6.0 heads. ls6 intake.

the flanges (collector) to the 6.0 headers are a special GM flange, stainless works a sponser ----> has them in stainless

what vehicle where you putting this in again?

goober35 Jan 24, 2005 01:11 PM

If you wanted to get cheap you could get the cats of the 6.0 and hack those flanges off. That is what i am going to do.

Ricky

I dont know what your talking about

NXRICKY Jan 24, 2005 05:09 PM

Sorry about that. You put the drive on the passenger side and the passenger on the driver side. I was thinking you just flipped it. Like for a Twin set up.

I think that Ricky is pointing out that you would need custom spark plug wires to (a) get around the manifolds like for #1,3 and 2, 4 and (b) might need different angled boots.

I believe that Thunder sells a MSD universal wire kit for like $90.

I like the look of that setup in your attachment Lamont, is that from the OH Boyz?

well john i got it off of here posted a while ago. but instead of one i was thinking a turbo on each side. I heard somebody did that. that set up there is nice too seem like its taking up a lot of room is everything gonna go back in place with the pipes there?Im jsut trying to put something together for this year. Time is passing. Income tax checks is comming :jest:

Hey john did speed inc tune your car. I heard mixed things about them. I have a friend who got a 98 z28 s trim supercharger got his car tuned there. seem to do a good job but my cousin has a grand national. They installed some champion aluminum heads on his car. when they put the headers back on the bolts was too long and it punched a hole some how in the heads. They said its not there fault they didnt know the header bolts off the old heads was too long for the new aluminum heads. And they said he was just out of luck. I dunno I guess theres good and bad talk about all shops huh

I have used Speed Inc. for tuning, and sometime major installs on and off since 1999. My experience has been very good. I have had a lot of friends use them and they have had good experiences.

I think if you do twin turbos you need to look at all the setups that look like what you want. Then I would look at what you are able to get done. Some setups have the turbos low, some up high.

smokinHawk Jan 25, 2005 05:48 AM

i believe mike and steve are using the standard ls1-sized plug wires on their manafolds

Pro Stock John Jan 25, 2005 10:54 AM

I'd love to see a recent shot of their setup, but I believe they run the truck coils, so in that case they might be running MSD truck wires/ truck coils/ truck coil trays like me:
