Aussie's took the record back!!

The aussie ute with a LS engine clicked off a 7.26@191.3 last weekend in testing. Talked to Con last night, they are fighting trans problems in the car but believe a "6" is in the cards! They will be testing again this weekend.

Casper is getting fitted with a stronger trans at this moment, so we won't be out testing for about two weeks.

If only we could get these two cars together!!

Im gonna say you are taking the glide out of the car and going with something like a Bruno?? What do you have in the works for Casper?

Reckless Jul 13, 2005 09:13 AM

I thought Casper already had a Bruno? Get it back Kurt! :D

Incredible! Competition and going faster is good for all us

Armageddon Jul 13, 2005 09:31 AM

awesome!!! I've seen nothing but these platforms getting faster and faster

The car had a Bruno/G-force in it already. We keep hurting the 3rd gear shift dogs so a Lenco 3 speed gearbox is being fitted to the Bruno right now. We were lucky enough to borrow a Lenco from a friend so we only need a driveshaft to make another attempt at a full pass.
We are going to try and raise the boost to 35psi so we can get that 6 second timeslip if the trans holds.

So this is a Holden LS1? Can you tell what mods are done to the car? I'm sure the mod list is extensive so if you can give just the basics that would be cool.

Kurt

What the hell do you guys do to keep the heads down at those pressures??? I thought most LSx guys are lifting the heads <22 psi???

Those are some crazy numbers you guys are running! :eek2:

hellbents10 Jul 13, 2005 11:56 AM

Wow, go get em Kurt. That would be one hell of a showdown.

LSX ENTHUSIAST Jul 13, 2005 12:32 PM

Kurt does casper also have a 4 link setup? What heads All pros or afr? Just wondering. BTW bring back the record!!!

sb427f-car Jul 13, 2005 01:01 PM

Hum, by casper, do we happen to mean a certain well known turbo guru's old car? *cough, mike moran, cough*

The heads are leaking a little on every run. We are just now starting to watch this. When the car runs we record water temp and pressure in the cooling system. At the top of first with 32psi of boost we had 47psi in the radiator. These head gaskets have only been in there for two trips to the track. We are going to track this to see how long the head gaskets will go before replacement. I think the "Ohio boys" are changing there's every 30-40 passes, and I don't know how high the boost is but I think its below 30psi.
The engine currently has a AFR head that has been heavily modified by W2W for strength and ported by ET on there CNC machine. Once a good pass has been made the engine will come back out for some dyno testing with All Pro cylinder heads. We believe the power will increase with the All Pro head, if it does more 1/4 mile runs might happen.
"Casper" is owned by Mike Moran and is currently on loan to me. It has a 4 link type suspension in the rear with struts in the front. I still have the luxury of getting Mike to test drive it for me which has proven valuable in getting a very experienced driver that knows this car like the back of his hand.
We will be taking a shot at the record soon!

Sweet Kurt, I figured that's the car, I thought maybe he had sold it to yall. I'm assuming that when the rumor mill stops and the actually products are out (read aussie block and world block with rumored extra head bolts) we'll see a shift to those to keep heads down a bit better? BTW, what's your pipeline saying about those? If you can comment.

Reckless Jul 13, 2005 02:37 PM

Kurt, are you running those "Top Secret" rockers on this motor?
