yup, another mother fuggin clutch bites the dust. At least I got a little over 3000 miles out of this one, it's the longest one has ever lasted me.
The spec stage v is junk like all of their clutches. I'm bummed out. Why does a clutch to hold a measly 600 hp have to cost 1500 dollars?
I'm investigating other options now since a 6 spd is not possible without spending a small fortune.

must be from serious launching and beating cause my stage5 is still fine and its seen the track as well with 600+ and 700+ on the street. Your the friggin man
I feel your pain on clutchs, i see guys with 1000hp and the mcleoud street twin are having luck then again you see someone with 500 and they kill a street twin. Too inconsistent.

my worry with something like the textralia is that it's new. Like most new things peoples views will often be skewed. I've seen the "this is the part that cures cancer" stuff before only to see a bunch of unhappy users a few months later.
No offense meant, but this sort of thing seems to be band wagoned a lot.
If everything works out, the T56 is going up for sale soon.
The tranny has been out 5 times in 7 months (6 if you count this problem). Thats getting very annoying. Time for a th400.
Only thing that sucks is I drive a lot and no over drive will be a little of a bummer with 3.42 gears. I need to get a more fun daily driver.

What clutch did that guy Chad run in his yellow Viper that went 8.7's when he had the 6-speed in the car? I know he was running a G-Force transmission but not sure what clutch he had.

1st pull replace stock clutch with spec stage 4
2nd pull spec 4 welded to flywheel after 500 miles
3rd pull didn't know clutch was welded and replaced hydraulics
4th pull replaced welded spec 4 clutch
5th pull spec 4 welded after 1000 miles, replaces with stage 5
6th pull ??? I guess we'll find out. It's slipping though.

i'm 99% sure spec = junk
I'd love to stay 6 speed, but I just don't wanna spend a small fortune on a clutch only to have it fail too. I hear the exedy is one of the nicest. What ever I do it has to have very good street manners since this is a street car I drive to and from work everyday.

I went Ram 910 after reading of all the Spec clutch failures. Maybe after having it fail the 4th time you should switch brands. I would've.
If you like banging gears you should find a better clutch from another company. Automatic gets old very quickly... but reliability would be a big motivator I'm sure.

i think slowhawk is running the textralia in his 500rwhp vette and it wouldnt even hold on the street for him. He put it in about 3 weeks ago and broke it in and tried some street launching and all it did was slip. It hooks when you drop it but not when you slip it like my stage 5. Hes not impressed what so ever. His spec3 did a better job.
I am not 100% its the textralia, sp dont qoute me, he will post up

Spec = crap.....why don't you just invest in a Twin Disk? They usally have awesome drivability, and it will hold good enough to find the next weak link in your drivetrain

Slowhawk has posted a failure on a different clutch. RPS.
Textralia holds this HP level with ease!

Hey zombie, Sorry to hear about ya shitty luck there. I have had great luck with my spec stage 3. I put it in 2 years ago adn beat it DAILY, mind you with only 350 RWHP. But then i put the turbo on adn was makin 600ish RWHP adn still beating it daily and it took 3k miles for ti to let out after 2 years of beating. I just changed teh disk the other day adn it is back to normal. Beatin the hell outta it adn no issues. Hope you have beter luck man.

Man at your power level I can't believe you've had such bad luck I have a chicken **** Spec 3 and I beat on it HARD it has held and doesn't slip that I can tell anyways. I still wouldn't lose my 6 spd good luck though the auto will be faster at the track and more consistent, but not as fun.
