6.0 Liter Iron Block/6.0 Liter Aluminum Heads Question
First off,I am going to copy this post in the LS1/LS6 Forum also. Would I have any issues with heads lifting off of block under boost conditions (5 psi and less?) I heard that LS6 Valves are the same size as the 6.0 Liter Valves, can anyone verify this? Does anyone have flow numbers comparing LS1,LS6,5.3,and 6.0 heads? I am building a motor for my Incon TT Kit. Thanks in advance.

Re: 6.0 Liter Iron Block/6.0 Liter Aluminum Heads Question
I would do the 6.0 block and 6.0 head combo. i think a good shop will get 6.0 heads to flow as well as any ls1 heads and maybe better. I dont see a problem lifting heads--most dont with the incon kit. Jeremy didnt have any problems with 6psi, but id talk to Nick @ ARE and get all his recommendations.

Re: 6.0 Liter Iron Block/6.0 Liter Aluminum Heads Question
I really think the heads will be ok. I've been over 5psi since day 1, and run 10 psi all the time now.
The key to sucess is 0 knock retard. Any KR is an indication of detonation, no matter how small.
I watch my scanmaster more than my speedo it seems, anything other than 0.0 for KR and i get out of it.
If i recall, the intake ports are different on the aluminum truck heads.
Please use the new metal gaskets <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">

Re: 6.0 Liter Iron Block/6.0 Liter Aluminum Heads Question
The 6.0 heads are the fav. choice as of late(mine anyway) as they have a 69-70cc chamber and a much nicer port than some of the car heads. They also are the 2001 castings which are a little different in process and material than some of the older years. If you can afford the extra weight in the front do the 6.0 block but the aluminum 5.7 with a few mods is great to about 600 rwhp.
we have the gaskets and fasteners in stock.
Harlan seems to have a real good handle on the program with his turbo car but the average "bolton" guy will have problems doing what he accomplished with factory prog. and gaskets! Like he said Detonation is our worst enemy!
