harlans 2step?

Harlan you mentioned to me once about testing it.....where are you at with this thing? I'd be glad to pay you the money for it...help ya test it and then swap or whatever for a final version.
I think I will wire it to a switch on my clutch pedal....it should keep boost between shifts.

Re: harlans 2step?

well

The one and only prototype is in the mail on the way to the Colonel right now. I only had one set of connectors on hand, and have yet to order more due to the minimum order amount required. I don't want to have $250 worth of connectors i can't use

I had it in my car for about 1 month, and 1000 miles worth of driving. So i'm pretty confident it works

Tested it on another NA car, word of advise...

Don't use it on a car with CAT's.

Once i confirm it's good to go w/ a BIG motor and a T-brake, I'll finalize the board and software. Then off to the board house, order boxes, connectors, parts, harnesses, etc.

And put my assembler to work

Soon grasshopper, soon.

Harlan, why no cats? Man, that SUCKS. I have to have 'em here to pass emissions.

Might have something to do with excess fuel from the dropped cylinders clogging them up.

or

The cats are lighting up the raw fuel and making a flamethrower exhaust system.

Re: harlans 2step?

i imagine it would damage the cats with all the raw fuel. As i understand it Harlan has every other cylinder not fire to get the "stutter". The raw fuel from the "misfire" would damage the cats eventually. Course I could be WAYYYY off but thats my guess. As far as "patience" I have very little. I'm a gadget junkie and your 2 step is a "gadget" that will actually be useful! Can you give a guesstimate as to when I could have one in my hands? I promise I wont hold you to that date or rag you as to why its not out. You still think around 100 bux is gonna be the price? That thing will sell like crazy for that price.

Re: harlans 2step?

That's exactly it

the heavy misfire, IE the stutter sends plenty of raw fuel into the converters. It's a quick and easy way to melt the "brick" into a blob.

It's an "Off-road use only product. Not for polution control equipt vehicles"
It works on a vehicle w/ CAT's just fine, but i hold no responsibilty for what it does to them. Use at your own risk type of thing.

Still looking about the same price. The knobs and boards are looking a little higher than expected, and i still don't have a decent idea of labor on the harneses. All i can say for sure now is less than $150, and more than $100. Where it falls in there is TBD, but i'm thinking closer to $100 is the way it's headed

I'd buy it..... Its alot cheaper that hooking up an MSD DIS-4 ignition system to get a 2-stage!

Re: harlans 2step?

it's more or less final in the design stage

I've got 1 prototype in the hands of a tester right now *cough* colonel *cough*

Once i get some feed back on how the install/setup/etc goes i'll finalize the parts and begin the process.

It will take a couple weeks to get circuit boards though.

I hope to be in full blown production by mid-march.
