Incon: Patrick gone, company on shaky ground.

From the Incon mailing list:

[quote]Dave,

I just got home and got this e-mail. I really don't
know what to say
other than 4 days notice is not quite fair. I have
stressed to you many
times that I would need at least two weeks notice if
something were to
happen. I have three small children and a wife to
support. My wife does
not work and I am the only provider. I have faithfully
worked for you
for over two years now and I know that if I was the
one to leave I would
have given you more than 4 days notice. We live
paycheck to paycheck so
that my wife can stay home and raise our children
because we both feel
that it is important that parents raise their own
kids. I know that
unemployment takes at least two weeks to kick in and
if I get $150.00 a
week I'll be lucky. Is there anyway that I can work at
least two more
weeks, at least until the end of the month? That would
give me time to
prepare my resume and start things moving towards
another position. The
job market is very poor right now because of the
economy and Sept. 11th.
If I can't stay until the end of the month can I get
my vacation pay? I
have 19 days of vacation that I never took or about
$1,600.00 You have
to understand that I'm scared right now. I have alot
of pressure on me
to provide for my family. You have given me no time to
look for another
job so that I may support my family. Please let me
know something
tonight.

[quote]Dave,

Tom says that he has faxed you several times and that
you are ignoring
his faxes. We need to know what is going on with the
company, If it is
going to continue or not? It will not be too much
longer until the
landlord figures out that Tommy has been stalling and
we come to work
and the doors are locked. It is really important that
you communicate
with me. I have a new little one now and I really
don't like not knowing
what is happening with Incon. I can't say this would
be the best
timing for this since Val and I just had our third son
and I'm behind
two paychecks. I just would like to know from you what
the plans are for
Incon. If it does come down to Incon shutting the
doors when do you
think this might happen? I would like to get the
customers who have paid
in full, at least the parts that we do have on hand.
If the customers
who have box 1 and 2 had manifolds and hardware they
could at least buy
some t-04's or something and have a kit. If they never
see the manifolds
then what they do have is completely useless. What do
you think of that
idea? I know Tommy is very bitter and wouldn't attempt
that last extra
step. Anyway, If you could please let me know
something asap. I would
greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Patrick

Looks like Dave's little bizness is going down the drain... Too bad for the customers who'll probably never see their parts. And really sh!tty for Patrick and Tom.

sounds unfortunate ...and not good timing either.

Incon makes great products, unfortunately for some reason, (legit supply problems, or whatever?) this is something many have predicted happening.

To anybody in longwood...do you have a pair of LS1 and/or 5.0 manifolds you can sell me before you close? (no shipping woudl be necessary, i am local)

Ryan.

I hate to see dave take everyone down with him. I personally have had many a conversation with tom and patrick, and it always seems they are trying to make up for Dave's short comings. And now this.

I knew things were a muck in turbo land, but it's obviously worse than I thought. It sucks for all involved

Wow, Patrick was only making $10.50/hr and was supporting his wife and children on that? I give that guy props, and wish I owned my own business. I'd give that guy a job in a heartbeat, AND a nice raise... I hope everything works out for those guys....

So do customers get their deposits back? Or is it like Hennessey where you send $X-thousand and never see any results?

Moderators, let's leave this up and see what happens.

I think this goes beyond Incon taking forever to get stuff done.

This looks like Incon is going out of business.

Someone needs to contact Patrick and Tom and tell them to collect as many parts as possible. If they are being let go with such short notice, the will need something to cushion the transition from jbo to job, and there's nothing like selling parts from a company that screwed you over on ebay...

Yeah but I think all of those parts are paid for by customers that aren't ever gonna see their whole kit, might as well send out what they do have.

Re: Incon: Patrick gone, company on shaky ground.

I talked to Tom today.

As far as the issue with Patrick, Incon, etc. there will always be friction there and in the end things suck for Patrick losing his job anyway you look at it.

Tom says Incon has a plan to remain in business and success of that plan requires delivery of the LS1 kits.

I'm just the messenger...I've talked to Dave alot, also to Tom, and to Patrick on a few occasions. I think they are all personally great guys, business sense is another matter.

Dave does seem to be dodging things on the list as far as the business side goes.

I have no idea what will really happen, I just hope to see everyone get their stuff, get their money and in the end be happy with the product.

Is it too late for that? Who knows, its upto those who are still owed parts, they have to decide to either work it out with Incon, or take legal action. Those are the choices, the day of reckoning has come it seems, it needs to go one way or the other.

Is there any trust left to deliver the product, who knows. Tom has not decided if he is going to address this publicly when I talked to him but he is answering the phone and was pretty honest with a few of the questions I asked him refering to the business and money situation at Incon.

So, if they owe you money, or a kit I would call Tom, talk to him, then decide how you are going to handle it.

Re: Incon: Patrick gone, company on shaky ground.

My guess is that Incon doesn't have the money to purchase the needed turbos from Garrett. Kinda hard to deliver them when you can't pay for them.

I'm betting that he's been stalling everybody with this BS about a "backorder", while he scrambles around trying to find a bank that will take a risk and give him a business loan.

I haven't heard anything about Lingenfelter having troubles getting turbos for his kits. And IIRC, they're the same friggin' turbos that Dave has been claiming are unavailable for over a year!

Tom,

I asked the LPE question and they are no longer working with LPE.

Its not a supply issue, it is a money issue, and your right they do not have it but are trying to get it.

Hey if the Incon LS1 and Mustang folks want to continue some of those discussions they can use this section as long as they use good language.

Re: Incon: Patrick gone, company on shaky ground.

I talked with Tom today, I will be getting the rest of my stage II kit, minus chra shipped next week. He did say that they are trying to get things worked out. But I figure if they do go under at least I will only need the CHRAs. Second I work for Honeywell which owns Garrett. They did have a backorder for about 6 month time, there is only a trickle of turbos at this time. So if you can get the turbos they are really expensive, so you have to buy a large number to get a price break. I can get gtbb35s but they are $1400 a piece or more, which is outrageous.

No I am not defending them just stating what I know, yes this is terrible situation and probably will not get better any time soon if at all.

I'll second that. I think Brad should tell him to take a vacation from the site.(A PERMANENT one for that )

Case Sensitive, maybe you can go in and edit the header to something more factual like "Incon let's Patrick go and future is shaky" Is that to nice?
