Best flowing exhaust for a supercharger???
I was just curious what would be a good exhaust system for a supercharged engine...
I was thinking maybe dynatech headers with a nice 3" OR Y-pipe. I just don't know what catback would match it...
Any opinions???

The more backpressure you release, the better, for a supercharger.
You don't have to spend money for long-tubes. But bigger primaries would actually help, for a blown application.
Just about ANY header will net you a bigger improvement. I laid down money for MACs. The headers are great, but I'm having problems with the cats.

LJ_Z28...I'm looking at the Dynatechs also and going with a 3" dual exhaust w/x-pipe, Random tech cats and some bullet mufflers most likely.
Dynatech 1 7/8 headers $470, collectors $200, RT cats $300, mufflers $150?, Dr. Gas X-pipe $200?,stainless 3" about $12/ft. Those are retail prices. Hopefully I can get them a bit cheaper.
I figure I can get all that for the average price of full length long tube headers and then sell my Borla catback to recoup some money.
I think duals with the right mufflers are a great way to go with a blower. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

Sounds like melted cats to me. Just wondering how you got them THAT hot.
I...ummm...had a friend..yeah...that had problems getting his LT1 Z lemoned from GM and this thing WAS a huge POS. He finally decided to try to blow the enigine so he put it in park and just floored it.
It took a GOOD 15 minutes of rev limiter bouncing coolant blowing engine heat to get the cats absolutley glowing hot. I DO mean glowing. Looked like orange neon under the car. As I walked to the back of the car while this is going on, melted pieces of honeycomb started shooting out the tailpipes hitting me in the legs! OWIEEE!
Has the car been running rich for any amount of time? I would think before they would melt in your case that maybe they've clogged with unburned fuel. Then again, maybe if too much fuel ignited in the cats, I guess they could foul up or melt. Just my uneducated guess.
Are your cats bolted TO the collectors or is there pipe between them and the cats?

The best combo out there right now in my opinion for the LS1's is the FLP long tubes and Corsa cat back. Nothing can beat this combination. Of course, only if the price is not an issue. The combo does cost roughly 2 grand.

Wouldnt it be better to hollow out your current cats. Thats what Iam planning on doing. Its cheaper and if a cop looks under the car with a mirror they are still there but they are hollow. How the hell is he going to know?
