Single Turbo LS1's...... Are 800-900 HP Single Turbo Ls1's feasible? Reason i ask is supra's do it with a lot less CI. Use a iron block and like a t88 or something equivelent. What't the Highest dynoing Ls1 right now? Nitin Reddy |
Re: Single Turbo LS1's...... A small block built for strictly an FI application would roast a Supra. As for the LS1 I think the heads are the limit to how much boost you can run. There was a 1300hp C4 Vette running twins in PHR a few months ago with a 400cid small block. All of the serious Mustang turbo guys are making well over 1000 hp with their setups. The LPE TT is supposed to be able to make over 1000 hp with more boost. I would love to see a big single turbo LS1 built for boost put out some numbers. |
Re: Single Turbo LS1's...... Just wait till Rob gets his SS redone, watch out. |
Re: Single Turbo LS1's...... I would really like to see it-Esp since going to the supra meet, the highest dynoer was like a 870 or so, I think it'd be cool to just roll up in a little ole formula, and lay down a 1200 HP dyno Ahh, maybe when i get out of college i can make this dream a reality... Re: Single Turbo LS1's...... in an all out application (iron block, head studs with metal gaskets, sheet metal intake, etc.) an 346+cid motor will obviously out do a 25xcid or whatever a supra is. Here in a little while Jordan Musser will have his LT1-based T88 project done. that will put out PLENTY of HP. as for the LS1? wait till Rob Raymer finishes is Z28. not that he'll really ever be finished. but he makes 707rwhp and runs like a 9.97 w/o nitrous off the line like the supras use. not bad for a turbo MUCH smaller than a lot of the others use...its like a PT72 Q-trim i believe. |

Re: Single Turbo LS1's...... I am definately shooting for about 850-900 rwhp. I will be using a Procharger F1-R.Hopefully GWP can accomplish my needs.A turbo setup would be sweet, but I cant seem to find one anywhere! |

Re: Single Turbo LS1's...... supras have 183" motors there have been racers with stock longblocks who have put them into the 8s |
Re: Single Turbo LS1's...... I've seen high 9's on stock long blocks, who has gone 8's? Not any street cars thats for sure. |
Re: Single Turbo LS1's...... craig pasley has done it on the import circuit with a STOCK LONGBLOCK! LOL and how many 9 sec street cars do you know? not too many i bet. |
Re: Single Turbo LS1's...... Oh you mean this car? Sorry, I thought we were talking about actual streetable cars. Not full out drag race, interior stripped and replaced with tin, tubbed cars. I guess we could slap a 7lb procharger on an LS1 and stick it in a go-cart and say that a stock bottom end LS1 has gone 8's. Oh and I know of several full interior street cars running in the 9's. Actually, the LPE 427TT is closing in on 8's and it is in reality a full street car. NoMercy's C5 also recently joined the 9 second club. [ March 28, 2002, 01:52 PM: Message edited by: flynbludream ] |
