Front Mounted Intercooler

Well, I had my supercharger off the car for a bit (Ati GWP kit) and decieded to try and front mount my intercooler. I have one big one instead of 2 small ones. Anyways, removed my bumber support, makeshifted a couple brakets, and now I have a neato front mounted intercooler. It seems to be working much better now, because before half of it was butted against the stryophone and bumper support. Now air flows freely through the whole thing. Drove around for a bit and felt it, nice and cool. My car also seems to run a bit cooler than it did before. FYI..

I'd like to see the setup too.

Perhaps some info on the core size dimensions not including the end tanks, also inlet and outlet tube diameters.

Did you see any difference in boost output after the intercooler as opposed to the twin intercooler setup?

I'm looking to do a front mount setup myself and any info would be greatly appreciated. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I will take some pics when I get a chance. I never had the smaller 2 intercoolers. My kit was from GWP and came with the 1 larger intercooler from the get go. When I first installed it, it was parrell to the ground centered under the nose of the car. It seems to be working much much better in my current configuration. My car seems to be running much cooler in general now too.

Damn that must be at least a 5 inch core thickness. Pretty large. I'm gonna hack out that area with Camaro lettering and fill it with a nice giant intercooler for killer flow and killer looks with a nice fat Vortech T-Trim blowing through it or if I have hairy cojones a V-7 YS-Trim.

Do you know what IAT differencess you are seeing?

HOLY POOPS!!!
i bet that intercooler cools your intake charge 30 deg. below abeient!!!!

what size is it? what are the demensions?? how hard was it to install ?? how much was it??

sorry for all the questions but i was dumbfounded by the size of your intercooler.

Re: Front Mounted Intercooler

the dimensions are 18 (24 with end tanks) x 11x4.5 with 3 inch inlet and outlet. It was pretty easy to install. I didnt need any new piping, so it made it that much easier. I just pulled the bumper supports off, then the bumper. Rigged up a couple of brackets and that was it. Took a total of 2 hours or so, taking my time. I like this setup much better.

The cost was included in my kit purchase, so im not sure what it would cost by itself. Im sure its not cheap though.
