What AFR's do you run? I'm at 12.4-5 at WOT at 8 psi whats the norm? |
LOL, AFR 225s! But seriously, thats about right |
Doesn't that sound a little lean for an FI setup?? I'm shooting for around 11-11.5:1 when I finally get to the tuning part. |
I would thuink you wanna stay alittle under 12:1. |
I sure would like to run close to 12:1. I lost 30 rwhp going from 12.0 to 11.5 |
Yeah you are right, I try my hardest to keep the AFR right at 12:1. |
A forged bottom end can withstand 12.0/1, but we tend to shoot for 11.5/1. If it was on my own car, then I might lean it out a little, but I don't want to do that on a customer's engine, #7 always seems to run a little leaner anyway. Bob |
11.0:1 for me and anything I tune thats turbo or supercharged, especially on stock motors. Want more power, add more octane and turn up the boost, much safer than leaning it out. Leanes I will run a car is 11.5:1. Another reason I tune 11.0:1 on 91 octane is when you start adding leaded gas with a lower specific gravity it will lean out. I know I go from 11.0:1 to about 11.3-4:1 using 100LL which I run quite often. |
thanks guys-I get a little black smoke as it is at 12.5 the car was probably a little richer but I went to a slightly smaller pulley before I put in the guage. This is still the mail order tune from lingen wich I've run for 3 years. So now I can use a higher concentration of methanol to water knowing that I am on the lean side of things.I had no idea FI cars liked to run so rich. Now for my next question--I added a 100 wet shot powerring setup.I'm going to look for KR on the scanner, watch fuel preassure, and the AFR's I will try to keep???About 11:1??BTW,I have Ross forged pistons otherwise stock bottom end. |
