I had thought about experimenting with this method of cooling about a 1.5 years ago. Flowing a pressurized evaporative gas through a heat transfer device in the intake and letting the gas be lost in the process.
I was thinking of using disposable r134a cans with a solenoid only because I am tired of filling bottles.
But then I thought I was begining to get a bit crazy and quit thinking about it.
Looks like it was not so crazy an idea.
This company has come up with a very neat product using Co2 and an aerodynamic bulb.

Re: interesting new product I have alwasy been thinking about building an intercooler for my Buick to incorporate a pressurized outer (the entire IC outer surface) skin. Then before running down the strip, drop the pressure out of it nearly instantly, dropping the temp of the IC to below negative 100 F or lower. Engineering it for repeated pressurizing over and over and have it pass DOT standards would be another thing...Maybe one day
