Default 607RWHP... With an offthe shelf STS!!!

Ok ok... there is a little more to that.
Dyno'd her today and made 607RWHP

Yes its a stock block... Yes its the regular STS with the 67 Trim. See sig for other supporting mods.

Now for the confession... I was running 114 Octane fuel. I up'd the PSI to 11.5. And she pulled like a peterbuilt!!! Now she also sprayed the back wall with some oil through the exhaust (thinking some blow-by of rings?)

But damn nice for a STS on stock block.. gonna run her at the track soon!

Ok fellas... Dyno is up... The first is the Dyno with the T-60 the second it the T-67.. Suggestions on shift points?

Best be carfull with that stock block.
What rpm does she hit full boost?

Nothing like the smell of 114 in the morning.

Just over 3200RPM's she is in full squeal! Yea I know... I am with Zombie though.. I think it can do more than most give it credit for. Although I think I am knocking hard on its limit.

If I am wrong... then I just upgrade!!! I only run 5psi on the streets.

Nice numbers. We'll have to run on one of our back roads.

What was your injector duty cycle looking like on that pull? Do you know around what HP level those injectors reach static?

-edit-

Congrats on the good results by the way...

TQ is 639 I think... I was a little suprised that I gained 100HP but only 4 pounds of TQ. I didnt think to ask or look at the Duty cycle on the injectors... when it was tuned with this setup (At 8.5lbs of boost) it was only ~60-65%. I imagine that I am at the limit of my setup right now... fuel system and bottom end being my limiters.

Thanks everyone for the complements!

Before I took my car down for the motor swap, the lowest boost I could run was my wastegate spring pressure... 11psi. 91 Octane too, worked ok with no alky, but on long pulls it would get some detonation so I started to spray just a tiny bit of alky.

I was only using 100 octane for 15 psi, but my timing was really low due to my compression. When I did run 113 octane and bumped the timing 8 degrees it was a HUGE difference. I can't wait to get it back together with the low compression motor, I need a fix BAD! The daily driver (SRT4) just isn't the same.

Zombie... I look forward to seeing your setup once you got it all back together! I had always used you as my motovation to turn it up!!! Haha.. people keep telling me I am at the limit. I am like "Nah.. I know a guy that does more!"

I am suprised by the 100HP difference in our numbers running the same turbo at almost the same PSI. I guess that says allot for the GT-7 Cam and LQ9 head combo for the STS. As she sits I am going to run her and I am sure I will see the 10 Sec run I am looking for. I think I have the most HP on a stock block of any STS I have heard of... there arent any F-Bods with STS in the 10's yet either... I will be both

Then I will prob go 370 or 408 and try to catch back up to ya.

The cam doesn't do much, but the fact the heads lower the compression a full point makes a big difference. It allows you to run more timing. My car only runs 10-11 at peak tq and then ramps up to about 16 by 6000 rpms when I'm running pump gas. I'm not sure where your timing is at but 2 degrees on my car is worth 15 at the tires!

The other difference is that i'm at altitude, my 11 psi is like 9 psi at sea level.

FWIW, I tuned a another STS car here in vegas with a stock motor. We put 100 octane in it and turned the boost up to 14 psi, timing was almost identical to mine. It made 503 horse/ 595 torque at 4500 rpm. We couldn't get any higher in the RPM range due to him running street tires. Probably wouldn't matter since it was floating the valves after 5500. We were just blazing them after 4500. My guess is that would have been a 575 rwhp pull. T67 as well. He is now installing ported lq9's and a z06 cam. I think I can get 700+ rwhp out of it when he goes to the 76 turbo.

First off, nice numbers, range... your block should hold up but look into that possible blow-by.

Zombie, plz don't tell me the re-bodied SRT4 isn't yours (the one Jon is working on - well... was the last time I was over there)... that would be 2 cars that are way too fast lol. You got any solid times at the track with that thing yet or still just huntin lieter bikes on the highways? yah yah I know - you don't wanna weld your flywheel to your clutch.

Got my own SRT4 for a daily driver, Jon's HenryJ/SRT4 is gonna be nuts, no more clutch issues either, TH400.
