Default forged internals

Im looking into forging my internals and I know i need the pistons and rod bolts, but i looked on speed inc. ,and im totally lost when it comes to this can someone help me out. My plan is going to consist of forged internals, built drivetrain,6.0 head swap from mti heads, and a procharger or turbo kit. And another thing does anyone have any experience with speed inc???

how much power you want?

what im doing instead of new heads to lower the CR im just using pistons in my motor...

dished pistons- 500$
heads-1200+$
rods- 500-800

drivetrain- rear- 2300
DS-300
tranny build... depends on stick or A4 or A3... probably 1000+$

but ofcourse this depends on how much power you want and what your doing with it.. wether it be track days every weekend or just a cruiser

if its just a cruiser grab a set of pistons and get the CR down and dont worry about the drive train... as long as you have street (non drag radials) on it wont bother it too much

or while you have the motor pulled use these

DP11503 Flat top/3.905 bore/3.622 stroke/6.125 rod/1.314 comp. height/.927x2.500 wrist pin/-8.6cc valve relief (Boost/up to 20psi) $585.99 buy

LUN-LAE1 Lunati Pro-Mod Connecting Rods, 6.125" ROD LENGTH, .927 WRIST PIN, 2.100 CRANK PIN, .940 JRNL WIDTH (Includes ARP Connecting Rod Bolts) $699.99

and pretty much have a motor that would handle 800rwhp

Thanks man you have been a great help and i love this section of the forum the FI guys are very knowledgablem and cool as ****. Yah this project is going to be expensive but hopefully it will be worth it. So as far as my tranny can i just replace the parts in my stock tranny to handle this power??? If so what do I need to do?

He'll have to get the block honed for 3.905 pistons right? Just cant stick them in and go.

oh sorry i took for granted you knew that..

yeah you'll need to have the block taken out stripped down, line honed, cleaned, put back together with new parts and balanced.

Why not just buy a full forged short block from one of the sponsors? If I remeber correctly TSP or one of the other sponsors have forged 346 short blocks for around $2700. You could buy that, which would be full assembled and balance, and then sell of your stock short block for $1000 or so. it would be cheaper in the long run IMO.

yeah... with FI you can use stock heads and still get pretty good results...

i'm going to use my stock 241 heads with the 921 spring kit and just hand port the exhaust side a bit to help it get of some more air.
