Intercooler Help... easy question..

I am getting ready to put an intercooler on the Goat, and have a question. It looks like I can only fit about 8" in height. I can get an OBX 30x12x4" intercooler off eBay, and I was wondering if I could simply cut down the height. Can the core just be cut down without leaking if cut in the right place? Modifying the end tanks and a little welding is no trouble.

I am also in teh process of searching for an IC for my GTO. Any suggestions would be nice. As of now I am looking into something in the size range of 28x8x4 and cooling with mathanol as well. Let me know what you come up with.
