Spool time. I built the car to drag race. Figured we could get the twin 67's to spool at 3500-4000 - which it does. My drive train will not take much more than the 1000rwhp that my car is tuned for. The twin have a capability of making 1200-1300 rwhp with the 408. If we now get the suspension and traction figured out, we will be in the 8's -- mid-to low 8's

By "spool" do you mean peak boost or initial boost? (kinda stupid question but i can't help it sometimes )

Do you think that if i ran a set of the super t70's or t72's with a similar .96 a/r, I will have peak boost before 4500rpm or at 4500rpm.? I ask becuz i want to have a turbo selection that will maintain my power levels in the future without having to spend the same dollars twice. I also want to run a a2a setup. Im also not 100% sure that my 4l80e will take more then 1000rwhp but i would like to see if i can.

What are you gonna do for suspension? You seem to be doing well, those track bars come i handy?

So if I have a plan to take the T76GTQ off my Typhoon and throw it on an LSx motor....is the .85 A/R not going to work??

An .85 is an on-center housing. I don't think I would want an .85 on-center on an LS1. Tons of backpressure.

Thanks for the response.

So try to swap out the exhaust housing with a .96?

I've never modified any of my turbos so pardon if that's a newbie question

Here is a shot of the housing, does that not look like tangential? (serious question):

Hey Dan, I switched to a .96 on my PT67 for the LS1. I can't see your pic (my network) but I can send you some pics of before/after. It's very easy to swap housings.

I'm talking about initial spool. At 4000, I'm see about 3-4lbs, at 4500 will see close to 6-7lbs. We'll eventually be launching at 4200rpm's - about 6lbs.

I'm no turbo expert. Maybe someone can help on the 70 or 72 spooling. My builder/tuner recommended the 67's and so far so good.

Ask your builder of the 4l80e wheather it will or will not take 1000. I know I am concerned on my T-400. It was built for 1K but you never know.

Suspension. Hopefully I'm done with it. C/M K-mem & A-arms, w/QA1 shocks and their race spring in front; Wolfe race sway bar, 1 off custom TQ arm, QA1 shocks and stock (shortened) springs in back. Best so far on very very little boost 1.41; on nitrous with same set up did a best of 1.34 on a 200 shot. I guess the weekest part of the entire car is the original/stock backs front and back

That is where the major difference in A/R comes in. For comparison, You get 7 psi @ 4500rpm..........My 347 with .68 A/R gets 16 psi by about 3500 rpm.

I mentioned this just for a comparison.

Ok, well that's good news. This is the turbo I got from Nolan up in Canada. Ball bearing center section T76 for $1000. I would hate to have to give it up.

Where is a good source for housings??

Also pics would be great.

On center is a housing where the exhaust inlet is centered wit the centerline og the turbo shaft. Tangenial is offset and give the exhaust a straight shot directly to the turbine. A Tang housing is supposed to be good for 5-10% more power. The downside is that you cannot mount the turbos with a symetrical look. One turbo will sit way up and one way down, unless the headers are built to accomodate. But then you still don't have a symitrical look if thats what you want.

I got my housing from ya'll and would recommend anyone else do the same.

Dan, I got a T4 tang undivided housing, T4 flange, v-band clamp and starter section for the downpipe from Forced Inductions.
