(mine will be a daily driver though, not as much power as yours- but fun at thet ips of my toes..)

875rwhp at 17lbs.. How much do you make on 8lbs? How much do your car weigh?

Thanks everyone. I appreciate all the positive comments.

To answer a couple questions.

Yep 408. I think the AFR heads and W2W recommended Cam Motion cam are really working well. The time Joey spent think out the build really is the key. I suppose gears will be next - running 3.73, need to go down to something like 3.20's.

Track prep has been great - as long track temp doesn't get above 130

Never really did a full pull on 8lbs. But "guessing" it would be around 675-700rw.

Agree, it is time to put some boost to it. Now that my confidence is back, the car is really truckin on down the track, it time to put the boost controller on it and make a full pass.

Next race weekend is Labor day weekend.

Thanks again

David

Saturday was a loss as I had some serious traction issues. Every pass, 1 to 2 shift would cause the SS kick the rear end out and had to fight the car the entire pass. This got really sick'n. Total of 6 passes on Saturday. Best of 9.62, with a best of 1.41 60'.

Sunday. We decided to change back to my old Hoosiers - 30x10.5x15R vice my new M/T 29.5x10.5x15S.

1st pass on Sunday: (Same set-up as Saturday except the tires)

60': 1.397
1/8: 5.926 at 117.568 (my 1st 5 second 1/8)
1/4: 9.266 at 145.724 (new best)

2nd pass on Sunday: (Increase 2-step to 3900)

60': 1.336
1/8: 5.840 at 118.283
1/4: 9.166 at 146.197

3rd pass on Sunday:

Found the limit of the tires out the hole on boost - set 2-step to 4100 and it blew the tires off. Oh well.

OH BY THE WAY - THIS WAS ON 8LBS OF BOOST We are getting close to our goal of 8 second pass on 8lbs of boost. Next race in 2 weeks.

Big thanks to Joey (my sponsor/builder/tuner) and Ryan (best damn helper/pit crew).

Here's the time slip

David

Thats pretty sick on only 8lbs. When do you plan on turning it up? Should be a solid mid 8 sec car when she sees 20+lbs

IF everything goes right, next time out on Labor Day weekend we'll be back at the track. I just have a bad feeling about the 3.73's. Not going to change until we have to. --- What gears were you running on your car Worm Boy? What's the status of your car?

THose are some awesome numbers for initial passes. Those are out of the box AFR 225's and port matched GM carb style intake?

This thing is going to be deep in the 8's.

Looks like another 8 second LS1 will be added to the list shortly. Very nice car.

What is your race weight? By the way I run 3.50 gears. We ran 3.41 in the Formula.

Not our initial passes, but we have been having major traction problems up until this last Sunday when I back to my old, worn out Hoosier slicks. No idea why my car likes the Hoosiers over the M/T, but it does.

Out of the box AFR 225's, 65cc, nothing special. Intake is a Victor Jr - out of the box - no port matching. It just works. Acufab 90mm T/B. Nothing super special about the build - but everything is special on the SS. Everything was thought out before bought. All I know is that is working great.

Can't wait to see what the AEM is going to do with another 10lbs of boost. We are going to speed-bleed in the boost - other wise, wastegates are 8lbs. We'll bleed in 2-3lbs of boost for every 10-15mph. By the 1/8th I'll be in 3rd gear, at about 120+, I'll have all 17-18lbs of boost (right at 1000rwhp). This way we will not blowing the tires off at line.

Thanks. Hopefully very soon - Labor Day weekend, we intend on shooting for the entire boost . I know only 2 8 second cars are listed, but I believe there is couple more out there that are not listed. But it will be nice to get my 1st 8 second - and they say this old man can't drive

Race weight: just corner scaled the SS, 3318.

We are going to be changing out the gears soon. Possibly just buy a 9", vice updating the 12-bolt. Believe we may go to 3.20's just to allow a little growth

That's amazing out of only 8#'s of boost.. That car should have no problems getting down deep into the 8's once you start to lean on it.

I thought mine was light until I added the fuel, tranny fluid, water, and oil lol...3450 race not as bad as yours but wouldn't 3000 be so much nicer?
