Default Truck manifolds VS C5-Z06 Vette manifolds

I'm upgrading my turbo and intercooler , and am looking to maximize flow in other parts of the system , it's a remote-mounted single turbo on my C5 Corvette . I am currently running 02 Z06 Corvette exhaust manifolds , and was wondering if there's any benefit in changing to a truck manifold , or possibly an equal-length shorty header , space is an issue , which is one reason I went with the stock manifolds originally .

Mike, the truck manifolds are not a pretty as what you have now. I think the 02+ Z06 manifolds are the way to go for your setup.

Long tubes won't fit without cutting the car up and running an air to water intercooler inside the car , I need to either keep what I have , or run a shorty to give me enough clearance between the exhaust and intercooler piping on the passenger side .

I'd keep the ZO6 manifolds for your goal.

ZO6 manifold is much better than the truck manifold. The ZO6 just won't fit on a F-car.
Cool Car!!

Rear turbos spool slower with long tubes. Most of us are switching back to stock manifolds and wrapping the exhaust to keep the heat in.

Thanks Kurt , I'm taking my new turbo to get the hot side hi-temp coated tomorrow , would you reccomend coating the exhaust manifolds as well ?

+1 ... headers slow down the flow

With the turbo so far from the engine, anything to keep heat in the system would help.

I would coat the manifolds and the pipes leading to the turbo inside and out....inside coating is more critical for retaining heat/velocity in the pipe....outside is more for looks, but I'd do both.

I'm going to coat the outside , not the inside , then I'll wrap everything .

I don't want to risk any part of the coating chipping off and going through the turbo .

Use 2000 Black and no worries on the inside....That's what I'm using....cast iron rusts and flakes worse than that.
