Question about GT25's I've got 2 gt25's that have a 5 bolt outlet, internally gated. Just wondering if there would be any advantage running a 3" v-band adapter on the back of the turbo, rather than the pissy little 2.25" outlet that it currently has. Just thinking it would probably make it spool better and have less turbulence and backpressure when the wastegate opens. Anyone have any thoughts? https://www.amzperformance.com/z32/?...c166d14fdf7dcb |
Anyone? |
if you got the space and the rest of the tubing agrees with it, go for it. on turbo systems it's hard to oversize the exhaust side, i've seen a comparison made on supras going from stock through 3, 3.5, 4 inch downpipe/exhausts and the lowend never hurt, but the topend always got better (and a significant amount!) with bigger exhaust. |

It would def help.. the bigger the better they always say.. It really helps to have a seperate path for the wastegate also... you can get a plate to seperate the outlet and wastegate.. then make a serpeate path about 18 to 24 inches downstream with a very smooth transition to the downpipe.. that will help with turbulance.. |
will the GT25's be big enough?? Chris. |
They have T25 flanges on the turbine housing, the compressors are rated at 450hp each though. Should be good enough for what I want. |
