Apologies, The APS drop in twin fuel pump system was designed around the plastic F body fuel tank.............I'm not sure if there's any difference between the steel tank or plastic tank, anyone have any input on this issue?

Thanks,

Peter

Thanks for that info, greatly appreciated. Can anyone else input on the steel and plastic fuel tank issue? Which year model F bodies have plastic fuel tanks and which year models have steel fuel tanks?

I'd guess that if you use full power frequently in high ambient conditions (over 100-105F conditions) that a larger more efficient radiator would be a good investment. Aust is now in the middle of winter so it's not possible to conduct relevant hot weather testing right now...............our summer gets up to 113 - 115F quite frequently so we are used to seeing quite hot engine temps at times.

I'm in an area where it is 90 + deg F nearly every day in the summer. I wasn't budgeting for a radiator
I don't have any data on engine temps right now as we are in the middle of our winter though I can tell you from past experience with twin turbo C5/C6 Corvettes and twin turbo GTO's..............if you are using 500 + rwhp frequently in high ambient conditions (100F or higher) then you had better plan on a larger more efficient radiator at some time in the near future.

See my previous post..............best to plan on a bigger radiator soon...............cheap protection/insurance for engines imo.

Thanks,

Yeah Peter the 93-98's had steel tanks ofcourse only the 98's had the ls1. 99-02 had the plastic tank and they both use totally different sending units or well the 98 don't have a bucket of anykind. I wouldn't worry too much about the metal tanks as long as you have the plastic tanks covered i would think you have 99% of the people covered. The 98 tank is a lot easier to make your own dual intank pump setup compared to the buckets that came in the later years I did my own dual pump install and it workd great although I thought your piece was extreemly nice and if I needed one yours would be first on the list.
JM-Nice wheels they look a lot like mine but with color lol!

Yea, the wheels do look sweet... -->Back on topic.

Peter,
Sounds like I would not want to go to Australia in the middle of Summertime. 113*? Yikes! Is the humidity very bad there? I was enquiring more about normal summer temps around 85-95. Like I said, I've seen other built cars, but NOT fbodies mind you, have problems during average summer temps. I think I would expect any car, regardless of type or modifications to run hot in Texas, Arizona, Nevada summers etc. What temps are you seeing now in Winter? 75, lol.

...Geez, 113!!??

I saw one of these kits on a GTO the other day; it was very nicely done. The fabrication, completeness of the kit etc. was top notch.

Are most of your guys just going to buy the Fuel system from APS or find parts and piece it together.

Just bought my 60# mototron.
Just need everything else.
I should have pricing on the drop in twin fuel pump system within the next few days.

Thanks,

Peter

Many thanks fo those pics. From what I understand the only model F body which has the steel tank is the 98 model F body. The 99 to 02 model F body cars have the plastic tank and the APS twin fuel pump system is designed for the plastic tank, I'm not sure if the twin pump system will fit with the 98 model plastic fuel tank. That I need to investigate.

Thanks,

Peter
