TA's with STS kit....POST PICS!!! Been searching around on here and a couple other sites and cant seem to find any decent pics of the STS kit on TA's....I can finds TONS on Camaros... So if you have some pics of a TA with one post them up PLEASE!!! Trying to see what it looks like from behind and how far it can be tucked up....Im also worried about being lowered it it, I dont scrape on anything now that I know how to drive a lowered car... |
Here's a pic on my WS6 its not an STS but its a rear mount setup http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q.../pics009as.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...a/DSC01095.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...a/DSC01183.jpg |
Oh I found one more here's how high you can tuck it up. My compressor housing is 3/4" from the heat shield. I also put an extra relective heat barrior on the factory heat shield. http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...a/DSC01181.jpg |
anyone else? |
Billy at TRT showed me how to tuck that thing up there so it almost disapears on my SS. I can't find the picture, but I know he has some. You can make it disapear on a firebird. |
Awesome....Im just very scared about scraping...I dont scrape on anything now and when I did (when I first had the car being lowered) I scraped the skid plate up front and the plastic air damn. |
anyone else? Surely there is more than one person who has an STS or rear mount setup on their Trans Am! |

Well our rear bumper hangs down a bit lower than the camaros |
check out the link in my sig |
anyone else? |
I have a 97 Formula with the STS kit. Does that count? If so, I could take a couple of pics tomorrow. Just say what angle(s) you would like to see. |

either have pipes made up, or raise your car, as it will scrape. I have scraped mine and I'm the stock height. hell, even with custom pipes theres still a chance you will scrape. get rid of the lowering kit... lol. cuz ur gonna scrape |
O.K., I'll try to get some shots today. You might check out EPP, Bob reported that he raised a lowered car back to stock height because it hung too low. I don't think that a side shot of my LT1 would help you, because my charge pipe goes up the driveshaft tunnel, not along the driver's side like the LS1. But the way the turbo hangs should be the same. |

they dont hang low at all as long as you do it right. Be alil creative work with the positioning of everything and weld a couple more brackets, i did it with a custom t70 master power rear mount, and the only thing you see from behind the car is mayyyybe the oil return fitting. But the MP t70 is bigger than what the Sts kits use. PS- My car is lowered 1" with hotchkis springs. NO PROBLEMS any where. My long tubes and y pipe(pacesetter) still hit before anything else do. Hope this helps! :chug: |
yeah I have NEVER hit my y pipe, the only thing I have scrapped is my front air damn, I think Ill be find I just need to find a good exhaust shop that that can tuck them well. |
what turbo should i use on one with injectors fuel pump and cam? |
