Downsides of 3 bar MAP sensor?

Default Downsides of 3 bar MAP sensor?

Are there any downsides to a 3 bar MAP sensor vs. a 2 bar MAP sensor? Is setting up and tuning a 2 bar easier? Will it provide better driveability?

I have a forged low compression mildly built 346 and a turbo system in the works and I am not sure if I want to go 2 bar or 3 bar. The car will be a driver, not a race car and I hear anything more than 600rwhp is not useable on the street.

I would think the 2 bar would give better resolution if you didn't plan on going over 15lbs.

That's correct...When you go with a 3 bar map it looses a little bit of resolution compared to the 2 bar... That's the only one that I've heard of... the 2 bar is probably a little easier to get a hold of too since it's in the cobalt and other cars from the factory these days...

2 bar is better for driveabilty.....unless you have a GREAT TUNNER...and i mean GREAT...

There's not a lot of difference between the two. I originally tuned with a 2bar because of all the doubts about a 3bar.

Took about 30 minutes to tweak the 2bar VE table for the 3bar. If you're staying at 15psi or less a 2bar is a no brainer since it does have "better" resolution. 18-20psi makes a 3bar a no brainer as it drives out very well.
