Default The much hated longtube and turbo question!

muahaha..well here me out.

is it really to my advantage having a built motor, to go back to manifolds for a turbo?

i know that for stock the debate is clear,MANIFOLDS KICK ***.

but im running these motor modifications..

Motor-383ci stroker:
Internally balanced, blueprinted, decked/Bored .030 over lt-1 block
ARP bolts/studs
Eagle 4340 internally balanced crank
Eagle "h" beam connecting rods
Comp Cams high energy hydraulic lifters
Comp Cams 1.6 roller rocker
Comp Cams chromemoly pushrods
Cloyes double roller timing chain
Wiseco dish pistons/ring kit with floating wrist pins
Comp Cam custom 230/244 cam 580 lift w/ 114
lobe seperation
setup for roughly 10/10.5-1 compression
NGK TR-55 plugs
MSD 8.5 wires
Mellings high volume oil pump

Intake:
ported and polished lt-1 intake(to match heads and throttle body)
BBK 58mm throttle body
ported and polished lt-1 heads with Ferrea valves, guides, retainers
AFR Hydra rev kit
AERO adjustable fuel pressure regulator
EGR delete
Ford 30lb injectors

im thinking with that much stuff done i might be just fine keeping my long tubes and running only 5-7lbs of boost.

if i go higher than that with a meth kit down the road i might consider more strongly the manifolds but i think ill have enough back pressure with those mods for a t70. .68ar and a 38mm wastegate.

If you are talking about a rear mounted turbo, there is no better solution to aid in spool than stock manifolds.

Stock manifolds should lower your backpressure vs headers.

A t70 is really small for that size motor, T76 minimum. .81 a/r works great.
Your comp is really high to be going FI on pump gas.

have to buy it big enough in the first place... and if you buy a turbo like mine (Tc76) then all of them regardless of size cost the same. lol... but i reccomend lower compression aswell

Around 18 or so PSI if you know what your are doing, maybe 3psi if you don't know what you are doing. It really depends on the end user. I ran from 11-16psi on my stock engine for 15k miles, but I knew how to babysit and tune it to make sure it was safe.
