AFR 227's and Procharger Are the AFR 227 LT4 heads a good idea when it comes to ProCharging? I have a D1, and I plan on getting my block done to a 396 in the near future. |
The 227 cc heads are good for upper rpm power. With a 396 and a ProCharger, and with the right rear end gears, you would have a very potent combination! Bob |
Awesome, now here is a better question, the 227's- should i get them ported more extensively, or are they good when they come? |
anyone? |

I'd just bolt them on as they come out of the box, but if you want even more power out of them, get in touch with Tony Mamo at AFR. Bob |
Yea, the AFR227's flow really well out the box. If you want more, the Competition AFR porting has consistently gone over 300 cfm, which is difficult to improve upon in a 23 deg head with standard port locations. That said, you should keep in mind that the 220's and 227's move the intake pushrod over to make room for the wider intake port. This causes lots of valvetrain setup headaches. That's why I stuck with the 210's for my car. Mike |
I have a Badass set of 220 's with the shaftmounts off my old engine forsale.Flow over 320 @.600 $3200. |
