Default 88 Degrees 4200DA shakedown run with the Speed Inc street kit on the Hawk.

Got to Bristol at 5:00 and it was 93 degrees.....shouldn't have gone since we're heat soaked but I haven't been to the track all year. Car is full weight with a custom interior, back seat, AC, 16" radials up front and MT radials in the back....3843 lbs with me in it. Yada,yada,yada..

First run was with the 2 step at 2500rpm...big mistake since the heat killed the boost...left at 1.5psi peaked at 13 psi during the run. 1.69 sixty 10.1 at 137mph...felt lousey soft....usually makes 4psi at 2500rpm in cooler weather.

Waited an hour and it cooled off to 88F. Cranked the 2step to 2800rpm...boost jumped to 5psi at the line....cranked the EB2 up to 15.5ish psi.....felt some better.

1.49 sixty
9.6 at 141 mph

My socks are wet so I went home.

Glad to see you back out Tom, thought you were giving up there for a while.

Could have picked a little cooler day though

Great results for 4200 DA, 3800+lbs and 15.5lbs of boost! (I think)

How were your IAT's? (just wondering how your custom intercooler is working)

Thanks fellas. I have to say I am happy considering the heat. Speed Inc kit is pretty slick.

I'll see if the camera kept any pics or vids tonight...batt died during the second run.

kp....breaking the T400 and RR "dual identity" problems made me want to take a break for a while.....nice to be driving it again.

Jim, I'm real happy with my IC. IAT's started at 122F (radiant heat off the asphalt was killer) and went to 154F at the end of the 1/4....I'll take a 32F delta any day without meth. Meth will get me under 100F when I get some more tuning time. My 3bar tune was dead on at 11.5 : 1 for the 10.1@137mph run since I tuned it on the street at 13psi. When I upped the boost to 15.5psi (9.6@141mph) it went rich (10.0:1)...I need to work the upper kpa tables and get it in line so I can add the meth.

Thank again guys.

I'm still working on the camera...should have something tomorrow.

Basic set-up:

428ci
T400 trans with 2500rpm stall...tight for the street and turbos.
3.00 rear gear for easy cruising and good load for the turbos. Fab9
GT35R twin turbos with Speedinc hot parts and exhaust.
Custom IC designed by me...built by Bell.
Twin 044 Bosch fuel system by me...one on the hobbs to keep the street fuel cool.
3bar olsd tune by me with 86lb injectors and box...ran out of injector with the Mototrons around 14psi boost and 75-80psi of fuel. EFI Live COS5. Base FP at 42psi ramped up 1:1.....idles at 13.5 to 14.0:1 cause I like the tune there....cruises at whatever I set it at...generally 14.6 : 1

Full exhaust to a Borla and slp dual tips out the back since we have to get yearly inspection stickers here in VA.

Nothing special about the car.....all the factory stuff still works...factory battery..added a 6 point for safety...rear seat and divider is in ...16inch radials up front to stop the car better on factory brakes...drove it +100 miles last week to work, etc to get the low boost tune tweaked. I did remove the spare tire long ago and replaced it with the GM ZO6 tire patch kit. Road race wheels are on the car for strength since it's street driven....I'd like to remove 100lbs with lighter weight stuff down the road...turbo kit, rear, 6point and me adds a lot of weight.
