Anyone have their car feel slower after getting more traction?
Got some hoosier 275/50 R15's on the car tonight and it doesn't spin from a roll any more. On the nittos I would get some wheelspin below 100mph from a roll once boost came up. With the new tires I can brake boost to 12psi in 2nd gear at 60-70mph and it dead hooks. The only strange thing is now it feels like it spools slower. I'm pretty sure it's just in my head though, kinda like when you get a car tuned in just right and get the power deliver really smooth it feels slower.

I think it might be spooling a tad slower with traction now. I couldn't always tell that the nittos were spinning much, but after a freeway pass I'd have rubber on the rear fenders so I knew they were. I'm thinking that the small amount of spin and then suddenly hooking after the rpms were up was causing huge load and faster spool. I've heard this referred to as "getting up on the tire".
Not a big deal, just means I can brake boost to 15psi vs 8psi on the highway Now I just need our local track to pull their heads out of their asses so I can run on a prepped track. They keep canceling the street events due to bad weather when there is no bad weather. The only nights i've been able to run are rice infested and have a completely unprepped track (I think they add dirt to make it worse).
*edit*
F-it, I'm gonna throw a 50 shot on this bitch, 140mph club here I come.
I've noticed that my MPH is 2-3MPH higher when I cut 1.6x 60's vs 2.0's. More average HP.

Tire spin = goes thru the rpms faster.

It's just strange to have traction after so long of not having traction lol I like these tires, can't wait to try them at the track I was blowing off the 26x11.50x16 ET Streets at the track and they were basically undrivable on the street. My 17" 275 nittos gripped WAAAY better on the streeet than them.

Seems like when everything feels smooth it feels slower which does make sense. Are you going to notice a jump of 550rwhp at 4500 rpms to 600rwhp at 5000 rpms more than a jump of 400 rwhp @ 4500 to 600 rwhp @ 5000? The second car will feel way faster even though it will be losing. You are going to feel a 200 rwhp increase way more than a 50 rwhp increase.
