Anyone notice new 6.0/6.2 MLS gaskets are 5-layer??
I had a nice conversation with Kurt @ W2W today for quite a while regarding different head gaskets, random stuff etc...
One thing that struck me that he mentioned was how older MLS gaskets are 3-layer and the new 6.0/6.2 MLS gaskets are 5-layer and should help with pushing water and issues regarding lifting the heads on high boost applications. This is in theory as he hasnt directly experimented.
Also that the new MLS gaskets are being increased to 5-layer to keep a seal much longer when the heads lift / high pressure due to where the embossed layer is located....
I have installed a ton of these gaskets on l92 swaps and other n/a setups and just never even looked or noticed the different compared to other ones...
Anyone happen to have any input or experience regarding running these newer gaskets with more success?

you sure he wasnt referring to fel pro?
it would be great if gm did them, but considering they allready produce a very nice gasket that holds well beyond production power levels.. i kinda doubt they would just decide to switch to a more expensive gasket.
so far mine are doing fine. this friday i should surpass the number of passes it took to start leaking past the old style gasket.

I believe those are the ones he was referring to. Ive installed a few sets and they say both 6.0 / 6.2 on the gasket instead of just one or the other. I just never noticed the extra layers as once you've seen 100 MLS gaskets, you dont really look anymore.
Let us know what you see when you get them.
