LT1's with Vortech Systems....

does anyone have pics of an lt1 with a vortech setup and aftercooler? also whats kind of power are you guys making? do you hear it wine?

anyone?

I had one but no pic's. I had the T-trim with the Vortech aftercooler. I used the 6.66 and 2.75 pullies. On a 383 with AFR 210's and a 224/236 cam, it made 13 psi and ran 10.40 at 133 mph. Through a TH350 with a loose converter, it made 550 rwhp.

im having a motor built for the car thats all forged components and everything going through abuilt 6 speed. can i run high boost like around 15 pounds or something?

In short, no.

- Yes, you will need all forged components, but you'll also need low compression. Around 8.5/1.
- Engine management becomes a problem. The stock ECM can be made to work with 15 psi, but it's jury-rigged. You really need aftermarket EFI for it to work right.
- Fuel system has to be stout. At 15 psi, you're talking 600+ rwhp (assuming decent head/cam). In that range, you'll need 2 fuel pumps and some big injectors. Perhaps even low-impedence injectors. If you run those on the stock ECM, then you'll need an impedence converter.
- 15 psi is fairly tough to get out of a centrifugal supercharger. When I tried going over 13 with my T-trim, I had trouble finding the right pullies to do it. Then, when I got a custom pulley made, I had belt slip problems. My point is that you'll run into a bunch of SC drive issues when you get much over 10 psi. That's part of why I switched to a turbo.
- Your goal should never be a boost number, rather a power number. Why would you want to make 15 psi? Isn't power our goal here anyway?
