Default NEW PB: Procharged C5 Z06 - single digit club!!

Went to Atco for T&T, the air today was awesome and so was the track prep. I made 5 passes altogether with the first couple being 'shakedown' runs to make sure the track was hooking. Here are the details.

Pass #1 - 11.556 @ 96.71 w/1.712 - 60'
I came out soft and bogged the launch, I wasn't sure how the track prep was so I wanted to be careful. Also lifted in every gear after because the car wasn't hooking at all up top. I later learned this was all my fault for getting out of the groove but I was thinking if I couldn't hook up top it was going to be a quick morning.

Pass #2 - 11.665 @ 104.40 w/ 1.448 - 60'
This time I actually launched the car since the 1/8th from my first pass was somewhat decent. Unfortunatly this time I went sideways shortly after the tree. At this point I was starting to get frustrated and contemplated packing it up and going home... I figured I'd give it one more shot in the other lane.

Pass #3 - 10.433 @ 138.91 w/ 1.623 - 60'
I was shocked when I got the slip, it didn't "feel" that fast but I was happy I was able to atleast get a clean one in. this was my highest MPH to date, my previous best was 135 when I ran 10.40 w/ 1.508 - 60'. I knew the car had a 10.20 in it if I launch it, so on the next pass thats what I did.

Pass #4 - 10.206 @ 138.33 w/ 1.472 - 60'
Now that was more like it, a new personal best ET, I was happy as a kid in a candy store. The pass still felt a little sloppy with the shifting and I new the 60' could be better. I raced Zturd on this pass and he had a good one as well, I'll let him post up his new PB. I figured since the track was now hooking well that I'd give it one more shot before I headed home.

Pass #5
60' - 1.410
330' - 4.156
1/8th - 6.405
MPH - 106.48
1000' - 8.357
1/4 - 9.980
MPH - 140.25

I nearly crap myself when I saw the slip  . I've cut multipal mid 1.4 - 60's but this one felt WAY faster then any of those. The car was straight as an arrow up to about the 1000' foot mark where it started to skate a little so I went off the gas from WOT to about 3/4 but still stayed in it. As I made my way back to the pits I was getting cheers and thumbups from almost everyone I passed, seems like they were just as happy as I was.

All these passes, as well as all my other runs with this car, were done with straight 93 octain pump fuel using full throttle lift shifts on every gear change. Tires were MT ET Streets 26 x 11.5 x 16 @ 10.5psi on a CCW drag pac (which will be for sale shortly). The car is also FULL weight with AC, power seats, radio, PS, ect. I also had a full tank of gas. Nothing was taken out what so ever, this is a complete full weight street car.

Other mods worth mentioning:
F1 procharger @ 14psi
AFR 225 heads
forged 346 built by TSR
stock trans
stock rear 3.42 gears w/ DTE rear brace.
DTE 300m output shaft
McLeod street twin

I'm really impressed with how well the car has performed all season. I have to add up all my slips but there must be about 40 or so passes altogether with 30ish 10 - second passes and about half a dozen of them with 1.4x - 60's. the ONLY driveline part I've had problems with was a simple bushing on the McLeod twin disc, which they repaired under warranty. The motor, SC, trans and everything else has been awesome. So it IS POSSIBLE to run a nine second pass with minimal carnage! Also, I've got witnesses and slips of all my passes today for the haters/doubters so don't even try it.:toetap:

BIG thanks to CARTEK for building an awesome street car. :smash: These guys really know what they are doing when it comes to making power! I was able to drive to the track, air the tires down, run a 9 second pass, and drive it home. :smash:

thanks all. It feels great running a number like that with such little effort. Cartek really did an excellent job putting this car together, all I had to do was drive it. It was almost too easy.

The reason I'm selling the drag pac is because I am done drag racing. Actually my whole SC setup will be for sale soon. I was bitten by the road course/autox bug this year and I'm switching to an ALL MOTOR setup with less power that I can beat on without having to worry about killing myself on a race track with 700whp.

wow-thats a huge mph, and with the 60' time, i would think the et would be much lower, but if your off/on on the shifts, prob where the reduction is
i def have some drive line loss in my other chevelle, it went 9.93, 131 mph with a 1.64 60' (procharged b/b) i figured the converter was too loose
congrats, i was going to go up there, now i wish i would have
are you running an innercooler, like the dual vette one, or a diff one?

you are comparing an auto's times to a stick car. the car I ran against on that last pass was an auto I'm sure, he had a 1.37 60' and went 9.89 @ 137 but the car was on some BIG **** tires and was a FULL BLOWN race car, not something you would see on the street.

It would have been nice to be able to use more of the power I was making and get a better ET but I am in no way complaining about either. I'm just happy I was able to run that time AND drive home under my own power.

That is awsome, 9's in full street trim! Do you have any dyno #'s for the set up?
