Default I could use some help in choosing a turbo for an awd 07 tbss

I have an 07 Trailblazer SS, with just Efans intake exhaust, 150 wet shot and a tune. Ive been looking at building a turbo sytems for it. I need some help in choosing a turbo, wastegate, BOV, what to use for the pressurized oil supply line and what psi to run the system at. I plan on using a FMIC .
Im looking to emulate the sts system. im not looking for a ten second truck, just a lil more power, with little to no lag. I can weld up the pipes with no issue, and get it tuned.
I found the oil return pump, IC just need some help with what to get. I figured i can do this basic set up for about $1000 in parts off of ebay.
Thank You for you help in advance.

Whatever you do, PLEASE dont buy the crap off ebay. In the turbo world, way too many knockoffs of good products.

Precision makes a great turbo for your stock motor and your goals. A standard 72mm, .68 A/R exhaust housing, T4.

Tial or Turbosmart 38mm wastegate. (recirculated)

Tial BOV.

Any -4 (AN/JIC) Feed line will work. For most of the T4 Turbos the drain flange is a 3/8 (or 1/2) to -10.

Also, if youre doing a rear mount, mid mount, or anywhere away from the motor be prepared for a ton of heat wrap.

Do it right the first time. And stay away from eBay.

good advice, but i'd say go with a .96 rear housing, and a little bit larger wastegate for better boost control. Although the 38mm work well on semi-low boost levels. (ie 8-10 psi) Hope this helps and good luck with ur build its gonna be sweet, and 4wd is always a plus

Do it right the first time. A TC70-72mm unit with a JGS40 gate. Spool very fast, small package....etc..etc.

The GT40 is a decent unit, but larger and a bastard since the turbine housing can only be clocked by 90 deg increments. Also the unit is only a 64mm.

I agree with dr turbo. Even a tc76 would be great and make boost quick.

We run a 40-88 on a rear mount Z06....made 640rwhp on 9psi with spool at 3500 on a 6speed car.

Runs awesome! I would recommend the 40-88 if you want to be in the 500-600hp range on the truck.

As far as the budget, there is absolutely no way you can do it for a thousand dollars. You will probably have 500 in the oiling system alone!

Well he could run a TC unit with lighter wheels, and smaller compressor housing. Make the same power and it will hit way harder/sooner.

Silverado SS, bone stock long block Lq9 (918 valve springs), TC76 @17psi, 5880lb race weight. 11.8@119mph.thats roughly 700whp. And it will make 6psi by 2200 with a light pedal going down the road. It will be full on at 3200 or so.

Sorry but there is no comparison on a street truck or suv.

Never done one on a truck, so I wouldn't know but the 40-88 spools great on our car and I really don't think I would want to see boost much earlier!

Its funny you say that, I often say it comes on too soon in Chris's truck. You hear that thing spinning on its way to boost before 2k.....thats enough to make you want to floor it all the time.
