Anyone else waiting on QMP/LS1M turbo kit??
I ordered mine the middle may. They said 4-5 weeks. 3 weeks ago they said last week or this week. Now we're on week 6 going towards week 7 now and they said today that they're waiting on getting the turbos in before they can ship any more kits. Anyone else hear this?
I'm jones'n here!
Also, has anyone jethot-2000'ed their manifolds and down pipe? I'm planning on doing this. Do you guys recommend not getting the inside coated? Reason is flake off into the turbine. blahh.
Anyway...

you must have missed some posts if you actually expected to get the kit on time
as far as the coating.. call rob i think he has a preferred place thats actually in va he can send the stuff to.
i opted to not do a coating because the beneifits are negligable and turns out very few parts that i got originially actually fit, so that would have been another big waste of money i wouldnt get back.
i say dont coat it.

Re: Anyone else waiting on QMP/LS1M turbo kit??
Thanks for your input guys!
The only reason why I want it coated was because of the location of the manifold piping on the drivers side, having both exhaust manifolds vent past the block on the driver side, I'd predict that it would increase temperatures on that side of the block and perhaps raise the risk of detination...unless of course this was accounted for in the design. I'll take a look at it when it shows up, perhaps put it on to fit it, then take it off (yeah right) to coat it if it all fits.

Holy ****. Just got off the phone with QMP. I have to wait about another 2 weeks apparently. If you plan on ordering this kit, I guess expect to wait 9-10 weeks before you get it. the 4-5 week number is BS. I certainly hope it's worth it.

This would be a good time to place your order for a new rad and oil pump. Perhaps the bodyshop could cut heat extraxtors in your hood while you wait. Save up some extra money for some new toys to add to make that thing work.
I'm sure the next 6 weeks waiting period will give you plenty of time to get the extras shipped to you

Re: Anyone else waiting on QMP/LS1M turbo kit??
This is BS I ordered mine probably at most a week later than you did. What did they say was the hold up this time? I thought they were waiting on 4 of the turbos getting in the next day (last week) and then just shipping those out. Then the last three only had 1 to 2 weeks left. I ordered my kit knowing it would be late, but this is getting rediculous. I ordered it may thinking i would have it on installed and running before i had to go back to college. If i dont get this thing until mid august i am completely screwed as far as getting it on my car until October when we have a break
Also which radiator and oil pump did you guys get to correct the problems (part #, company, website, price, etc.)

you waited 5.5 months??? Wow, i had no idea it was that long. I guess that means I have about 3.5 months to go. Why does it take so long? and why does the website say 4-5 weeks when that is totally false? They could at least give something a little more accurate or not say anything at all.

My order is canceled if I have to wait more than 2 weeks. There are two other kits on the market I can deal with.

ya i expected to wait longer than what the site tells me. But when it says 3-4 weeks and you have to wait 5.5 months thats a little excessive. If its really that long I would have ordered one of the other kits.

ya, you're different than the rest of us. Didn't you read the 10,000 posts about this since 01Apr02?
If you didn't, then get used to this. This kit will take a few months. It just doesn't get done as fast as everyone (including Rob) would like.
Trust those who've had this experience... and, yes, I'm one!

Re: Anyone else waiting on QMP/LS1M turbo kit??
All I'm sayin is if they say 4-5 weeks then they should do it in 4-5 weeks. If they've known since April of 2002 that it takes 5 freaking months then they should say, "it will be there in 20 weeks" Since turnaround is a factor in selling the kit it is somewhat false advertising when they say one thing knowing that it will take longer. When I ordered it the guy said 4-5 weeks. If he knew otherwise then that's dishonest.
Needless to say, obviously we all get a little pissed when we wait and wait for a good thing (hopefully) and it doesn't come through. So I'll hold out a little longer but I was just starting a thread to see if others were in the same boat I was.
thanks!

Re: Anyone else waiting on QMP/LS1M turbo kit??
UPDATE: I just got off the phone with LS1motorsports. They told me the kits are in the same position they were two weeks ago. They are just waiting on the turbos before they ship them out. I straight out told them that alot of guys on the camaro boards are saying it took 5.5 months to get here. He said thats because they ordered them before the kit was even out. He said there is no way it will take that long but he has no idea when they will get shipped out. So i guess no one knows how long it will take now. Its up to the turbo gods.
