What's this thing?!
 

It's on the intake manifold on the driverside near the rear of the engine, had a plug connector and two vacuum hoses, one goes to the back of theintake to the MAP sensor and the other one was for the AIR/EGR stuff that i put a plastic cover on once i removed all that stuff.

can i completely remove it? and what was it's function?

what's it for? what all would i have to tune out to not have SES light on for it?
