How can I keep my A/C with stock manifolds?
I've searched for the answer but can't find a good result. I'm wanting to keep the A/C since it's my DD in Oklahoma... yeah. And I want a front mount setup. My original intention was to put the 76mm turbo in place of the battery, and make my own passenger side log. But making a log that fits JUST right is not an easy chore. I wish I could use 5.7 or 6.0 manifolds or likewise and be able to keep the A/C. Has anyone got any suggestions? I know it's been done... help me out

i'm doing mine with stock exhaust manifolds only thing is you need the BMR kmember turbo to have enough room to have the pipe do it's loopy. basically the driverside crosses over under the tranny into a J bend heading to the front of the car connected to the passenserside. still keeps the AC as the pipe has enough room with the bmr k

Here are the threads that discuss the C6 manifold way:

Hennytime hooked me up in a thread I posted not to long ago about front mount systems that want to keep the A/C. Hope that helps.
FYI - My current system uses a log on the driver's side, a cast manifold on the passenger's side, and a crossover tube that runs right below the front of the transmission pan. This with a stock k-member and AC still in car. It is very cramped with the T76. I'd snap some pics but it is all apart right now. Have my transmission out and had to cut the crossover pipe to be able to drop the tranny.
Here is the passenger side that I had to cut out.
In this pic you can barely see where it connects to the driver's side log. Right above the shifter linkage, you can see the pipe coming down from the log manifold.
I should have the trans back in the car within a few weeks. I can post up some more pics then.

I'm doing C6 manifolds on both side for a twin kit that keeps everything in its stock location. I know at least one person has done this setup and hopefully some pics will be up in a few weeks.

I shifted gears on the A/C setup. I am slammed at the shop with customer builds right now. The A/C setup is on the back burner again. I have a set of C6 mainfold sitting in the shop. I also have a set of Tube headers sitting in the shop. It is up in the air as to which way I will go with it.

great thread guys! I'm liking this idea of the c6 manifolds. now I'm just waiting for someone to take some snaps of it from the top of the engine bay, let's see how cramped things really are

Agreed. I also want to know how the 2 bolt flange on the C6 holds up to the exhaust pressure; and how that O2 bung in the middle of the exhaust collector works out.
