Vic Jr vs Super Vic for a t76 370 motor What are your guys thoughts on the vic jr vs the super vic intakes? The motor is a built/boosted 370 LQ9 and 76mm Precision turbo. Car will see 600-700rwhp also I am referring to the EFI model. The harness is out of a 2002 TA, same with PCM. Also will be using Edelbrock rails |
And if it matters it will have an Edelbrock 90mm TB and Edelbrock intake elbow |
Use what you like. Thats is the best advice I can give you! |
Well Im curious what the difference between them is. A lot of people seem to do fine with the Vic Jr but Im wondering if my setup would benefit from the better flowing super vic or if the super vic was for higher hp engines. |
How tight do you plan to spin it? I would say a the choice depends on your driving style, cam and where you want your powerband. What is your expected boost level, and how heavy is the Elky? Sweet car, btw. Dig the classic red & back stripes. Jim |
2005 LQ9 6.0 block ~ 370ci Diamond -14.9cc dish pistons, Mahle rings, ARP head studs, ARP main studs, ARP 2000 rod bolts, 317 heads surfaced & valve job, GM 6.0 head gaskets, Eagle offset h-beam rods, Polished stock crank, LS6 valley cover conversion, custom Comp cam 226/230 .584/.605 117+4 lsa, comp 918 springs, comp 7.4" pushrods, comp retainers. Motor specs. Car will mainly just see cruising miles with *spirited* driving. Id say weight is probably 4k not sure on boost level yet but high boost will be on meth and good gas, where as low boost will probably be 12psi and 92 gas. |
I would say just use the vic. jr. in your application. The super vic. is rated in the 3500-8000rpm range which would not benefit you that much. Although you can force more air through it, I am not sure how much of a gain you will see vs. the vic jr.? |
Exactly what I wanted to know. :thumb: Thanks! |
For those cubic inches and the weight and use, I'd agree with Hunter02SS and go with the Vic Jr. F T W! Jim |
