LSXtreme Trans Am jumps into the 8's
Well the shakedown continues..finally got to a good track (Milan Dragway) and for my for my first race (knowing it was more of a test session) and made a big leap. Previous best pass was 9.11 @ 153.
First of all we had to make some serious chassis adjustments due to adding 320#'s of ballast to get me to 3400lbs (actually tipped in at 3425). Once we seen the car went straight with a 9.34 and a 9.12 in the 150mph range I decided to make my first real tuning adjustments with the ole' crackpipe (boost controller). The results are in the vid. That pass qualified the car 9th out of 18-20 cars but also put me against the #1 qualifier, damn sportsman ladders . At least it was against our "sister" team (Ohio Boys) Steve Turley who is been a big help to me and a class act to race against. Needless to say I lost because we couldn't figure out how to turn down his boost controller down while he wasn't looking . The car still made an equally good pass.
The 60's were only 1.39 and 1.40 and the car was between 21-22psi for those passes. Looks like we still got plenty of room to move and without the weight it should meet or likely exceed our expectations for the car's current set-up.
BTW...I have no idea what happened in the other lane with the lights but I was happy I didn't get too rattled being a novice.
Enjoy...http://videos.streetfire.net/video/T...867_164998.htm

Did they run a full program last night? I didnt go to watch anything as I figured storms were all over the place.
EDIT: Nerver mind. I just jumped to the Milan site and it looks like it ended early with a 2 car shutdown area crash and bad weather rolling in. Anyone know what time it ran to?

Maybe 20 total. Most of the those have been partial passes. Last night was the first time I really felt like i could stand on it comfortably. I have built and driven NA, Nitrous and a Supercharged car. This turbo stuff is addicting but alot more complicated when it comes to racing....I'm getting there. I just tell people I'm trying to "learn" the car and the car is also trying to "learn" me, lol.

i do believe that crash was only the second race in the drag radial class(the car that crashed was a late model camaro cant remember year but had a GN motor and turbo setup in it, not sure if he was ok the ambulance and firetruck outside of milan came flying in. then it started to rain

Thanks John, actually weighs a little under 3100 with me in it. More of hinderance than anything racing in this series.
Should workout nice for 1320X though...shame I won't have more seat time to take advantage of it, but we'll be there and hope to have fun! Tom mentioned you wanted to get a closer look at the car, you going to the Milan event?

ALOHA Todd, lol. I never busted on Steve (featherfoot) Turley because I knew I had would have to face the music someday. Now that's here and I completely understand the level of comfort one must have to run at these ET's. He is the man right now hear in the North. Mike's (Brown) is right there as well. They definitely get some credit in getting me to this point, this fast. To bad your stuck over in paradise,
