Can I get a TTi street kit review?
I searched but didn't really find what I was looking for. Are there any issues with this system? How is it compared to others? I'm coming up on a decision and would just like to get all the info. I can before I buy.

Im running the qmp kit which is pretty much the same thing. The issues i had was,the IC blocked to much of the condensor/radiator and the engine would over heat with a/c on in really hot weather.
The steering shaft hit the turbo log and i had to space the engine up higher to clear.
2 welds on 2 primaries are starting to crack and leak.
Ive worked around all the issues and have about 4k or trouble free driving already on my kit this year. Not to mention it was on like 3 cars in the last 5 years before me.
I would go for a 76ish mm turbo. That was a regret with mine since i started with the 67mm.
Other than that is works fine and is really simple. Just dont try to push it past about 700crank hp because i would imagine the back pressure with this kit has to be pretty bad with higher boost.

the qmp has the wastegate after the log so all 8 cylinders have to go through the log all the time.
the tti has the wastegate before the log so once spool is achieved only as much as is necessary to maintain boost level goes through the log..or at a minimum 4 cyl worth.
its still a base kit and was not designed to be efficient in the 700rw range. that is what the tti race kit (like me) have.

But what if those 4 cylinders not being controlled by the wastegate were enough to build more boost than your spring was set to. I would think that over 8cylinders would be better.

I ran one for a while, Solid kit. I had the 76mm version, and with an auto car ran it to 680rwhp. The QMP kit is similar but the quality wasn't there and alot of people had welds crack. The TTi kits Don't crack.
The kit connects both banks of exhaust together with a crossover at the back of the log. The wastegate is on the crossover, and vents the pressure off. It controls both banks of exhaust, not just one side.
Minus fuel and tuning, the kits are very complete.

well for one it acts against the exhaust valves and reduces your effective spring pressure
say you have a 300# spring pressure on a 1.5" valve but you have 60psi exhaust pressure
rough math= area = 3.14 (.75)^2 = 1.76 square inches
1.76 square inches * 60psi = 106#
300 - 106 = 194. your spring pressure is reduced quite a bit and is more susceptable to floating the valve.

Hey MightyMouse, you said you have the race kit, and from what I gather in other posts of yours, you still run a/c and ps right? Did you have to do some customizing for that? I know you've built yours for a ultimate street car setup....care to share a couple details about that?

I have the street kit on my Camaro. It did have an issue with over heating with AC on. That has been fixed with programming the fans and running a 160 stat. In the Texas summer heat with AC on it won't go over 225 now.
