Default Buy FI set up or a C6 ZO6

Well to make a long story short, spend $20k on a 850rwhp FI set up for my 98 f-body with no car payment or Sell the camaro and put $30k down payment on a 06-07 ZO6 and have a car payment.

no way you are going to spend 20k and make 850 rwhp. I wish it could be done but it just can't. Either way, buy a Z06. Prices on them are going down like crazy and you should find a great deal.

Personally I would get a new Z06. Amazing cars in stock form. I am currently building a nice FI setup on my camaro which should make some good power. I also just sold my C5 Z06. Nothing like having a factory car run solid 11's and can handle, has AC, looks amazing, decent gas mileage. Its a tough choice, but at that time I didnt have enough $$$ to justify on a new Z06. Although my build has cost a lot more than expected and now regret not just getting a C6 Z.

You could most def. spend less than 20k and make 800 Horsepower...

You can get a 408 on this bored for 4k, Th-400 for 2k, 9" rear for 1500, and a CUSTOM twin turbo kit for under 6k

Thats 13,500k and thats over estimating....

OBVIOUSLY if you can do the work yourself..... and if not add another 3k so 16500 with the work being done by someone else!

...its nice to have a nicely built up camaro/firebird that is ready and able to beat up on any Z06 or other supercar/exotics for that matter. You can definitely get that camaro to outrun a Z06 for less then $20k, and i have a turbo kit for sale that will suit your needs, price is unbeatable too. PM me if interested. Either way my personal opinion is that car payments suck *** and modding a car you dont have payments on is much more enjoyable once everything is done

might need fuel system to back up 850rwhp, maybe more suspension crap to handle it, tires obviously every few months if you like driving the car alot, random odds and ends like flanges, bolts, braided lines, gaskets and fittings etc will get up there quick too. Anyways yea it can be done for much less that is the point then you can go supra and viper hunting buahaha

I priced everything and I would spend around $15K. $6k for FI set up, $4-5k on new motor, $1k fuel system, $1k clutch and other odds and ends. My set up now on the car is a n/a 550 rwhp 414ci stroker, TFS 235 heads with all the motor goodies, 12 bolt, most susp. stuff and Fikse rims so I have some stuff that I dont need.

I will be broke after doing this. I would be able to do full bolt ons on the ZO6.But I do think a 850rwhp f body would be insane.

Honestly, if I could get all my money back I have put into my car, I'd do it in a heartbeat to be able to put it toward a new C6 Z06...

The thing with the Z06 is it has a warranty, its new, you dont have to rely on anyone but a GM dealer to keep it going, and at least after you are done paying for it you have a car thats worth something instead of a money pit.

Really depends if you like working on the car or driving the car, I enjoy working on/building/tuning/racing more than driving it so I can really care less about what kind of car it is as long as it performs the way I want it to. But if I wanted to drive something cool and not fart around with it a new Z06 is a no brainer, a 4th gen is no comparison no matter how fast it is IMO.

I'll give you my FI WS6 (should make about 800, we'll see by next week) and you put down $30k on a ZO for me and I'll make the payments. Deal? (I think you have my answer too).

My complete build was right at $26k w/labor, stock to brand new motor/tranny/blower/fuel system/cooling system/suspension etc. It can be done and with less. My crank/pistons/AFR's/2 core is what put mine over.

EDIT: Just realized he has a 414ci already, w/some tweaks it could be a good blower motor for even less!

I would go for the Z06. Me and few buddys put cam only z's in the mid tens on stock emt tires and clutch cars. The cams were street cams that could be daily driven easy.
