Drive before tunning question

I am putting the motor and transmission in the car this weekend. My question is what kind of driving can I do with out a tune to make sure there are no problems. I want to take my car to speed inc to tune it and I do not want to get it there and there be some problems.

This is my twin 76 kit, and I have 60lb injectors. My plan is to not get into boost. But would like to get into some rpms if I can! Am I going to be ok to drive on my stock computer, or what would you recommend!

You have to tune the car for the 60lbs injectors.

At a minimum you have to change the IFR for the 60 lb injectors, you really don't want to be dumping the amount of fuel you will be especially if it is a new motor.

I wouldn't try doing anything on a stock tune with that setup. Are you running twin 76 turbos on 60lb injectors?? If so I think you're way under fueled.

Don't drive it w/ 60's and twins on a factory tune. Either get a "base tune" sent to you fom SpeedInc and then drive it like a puss up there (under 3KRPM)

Even better idea...... trailer the car to them.

Your impatience will result in a lot of expensive broken parts otherwise.

Just my $0.02

Ship him your ecu for a base tune to "test" out your car. Part throttle and x<4krpm only for a hundred or so miles. The go tune the bitch!

Put in the 60s at Speed Inc's parking lot when you arrive.

I am trailering the car there, I am in Kansas so I am not going to risk that.

Also the 60#s are temporary. I am running out of money on the build so I will use these and tune to about 750. I purchasing MS and I am going to go with Low impedence injectors. But like I said Money is tight and I just need this done. Got a Kid coming in a couple months!

who is doing the tuning for you pm can get close so you can drive it

As long as you only do part throttle driving you can leave the factory injectors in it to take the car out and make sure everything is working. If you tried to do this with the 60's, you'd likely be washing the cylinder walls down with gas. Bob

i know on mine when i converted to the 2BAR SD setup i changed the injectors to the 60's and just copied my VE table up to 105kPa i cant go past 3000rpms as that's where the boost starts to build up and the car falls on it's face (after 105kPa the VE table is basically WAAAAAAY off and dumps a TON of fuel)

As said by Bob, if you keep it off boost, you can keep stock injectors to avoid running too rich.

Why Twin T76 with 347 ci engine? And why 700R4 instead of TH400?

It was the parts that I had availible. The 700 is for street driving cause this is a street car not a track car. I have thought about a powerglide to.... But it just is not the best for street driving.

I think I am going to leave the stockers in just to check things out. And then go and get her tuned. I think I have decided to go to Speed inc.
