Intercooler/cold side pipe size

Setup: 5.3 stock, Master Power t70 .68ar, will be street driven, pump gas

Turbo compressor outlet is 2.5"

Can I run 2.5" pipe to a 2.5" inlet/outlet intercooler, than transition up to throttle body size after the intercooler?

Or should I run a larger intercooler inlet/outlet and larger pipe alltogether?

Any help would be great

Thanks,

Matt

Run what's on the intercooler, going bigger isn't going to make ANY difference unless you're going to bend (pinch) the hell out of the pipe on it's way. I had the same turbo, and sounds like the same style intercooler, 2.5 the entire way and then used a coupler to go to the MAF/TB.

Run 2.5" off the first section of the compressor housing and then immediaely run 3" since most decently sized intercoolers are 3" inlet/outlet. 3" will also help out with volume/flow bla bla. Good luck with everything.:D

oh wait, just saw your intercooler was 2.5", w/e you can still run 3" if you dont want to buy a new intercooler (budget $$) but you will obviously have to transition the pipes down on the inlet outlet from 3"-2.5" if you use the bigger pipes

If you already have the intercooler at 2.5" then I'd just run everything that size. If you don't have it yet I'd get a 3" and come off the turbo with a 2.5 to 3 increaser and run the cold side in 3" just in case you decide to go bigger in the future.
