Default ST80 back at the track again, improved my times

Went back to the track tonight since it cooled off finally. A cool 78 degrees at 11pm with a DA of 4200 feet I bumped my rev limiter from 6900 to 7200 to see what would happen by running the car out a little further, still the same setup as last week but I fixed my air bag which helped the 60's. All runs were done at 17psi

6psi launch [1.65] 10.29 @ 134.3 [tapped limiter in 2nd]
7psi launch [1.61] 10.15 @ 136.6 [hazed on launch]
6psi launch [1.65] 10.29 @ 135.9

I think a taller tire will really help me out, revving out the car was yielding higher trap speeds and better ET's. I was trapping between 108 and 109 in the 1/8 but only ET's 6.5-6.6. With some better 60's I'll go 9's

Had a little run in with a Hayabusa on the way home from the track too. From 65-125 I put 1 car on him and I gave him the move. I waved bye bye to him as I pulled away too, maybe I shouldn't have been so mean. There was an 08 Busa running at the track tonight too, his best time was 10.4 @ 141, had a power commander and pipe. If you know bikes at all, this gives you an idea how slow stuff runs at our track.

Vegas and Bristol were both built by Bruton....and both suffer from high DA...it's hard to imagine how much that DA hurts your times until you run there......at least it's not Denver!

Your car is moving out....nines just around the corner...at a "regular" track you'd be deep into the nines now.

I was most impressed with the 136.6 MPH run. The MPH really surprised me. I'm thinking in better weather it will go 137-138 now. Better weather is only a month away max. This ST80 is MUCH more effecient than my T76 was. My best ever MPH on the T76 was just shy of 133.x on 19psi.

Zombie those are nice times especially at that DA. You should make a road trip to a stip with half that DA and you would be sniffing the 9's.

I just looked over my logs from the track. Turns out my boost gage i've been referencing is off by about 1 psi, my best pass was only on 16 psi with a 6psi launch. Tried turning it up more, but ran into detonation. Going to try adding some more octane to see if there is more left in it.

Spool time on the transbrake was 2.5-3 seconds according to my logs which isn't too bad.
