Upgrading my turbo's!

I had one of T60-1's go bad last friday night at the track, so i ordered 2 new Turbonetics HP76mm BB Turbo's with 4in. down pipes. 2 years of abuse on the old turbo's, I can't complain!

Well its always nice to upgrade. Do you plan on pushing the new units a lot harder than you did the 60's?

Not until I get a 6 bolt headed motor! Pushing water still sucks!

LOL at the guy in Texas! Yes those turbo's have treated me well. That is why I went back with them.

Large compressor cover.HP-76 with the S trim exhaust wheel. .96AR.
It's basicly the same as the new GTK-1000's, just without the surge cover.

Well unfortunatly ,the pushing water issue is still here with this motor.
I really don't plan on making much more power with this motor, but it should be a little more efficient with cooler intake temps. The new motor I plan on trying to acheive the max the turbo's will provide. 15-1600rwhp. The motor will obviously be a LS 6 bolt head of some sort.

Good luck man.

Damn all the water pushing at how much boost did the car started pushing water with AFR 225 Heads???
I'm planning to get those heads what do you think???

I can make a 1000rwhp and it won't push water but a tiny bit. It gets bad if I beat on it real hard and I don't let the car cool down inbetween passes very much. My timing was a little high as well. I going to back it down to 15deg. and leave it there. At 18deg. it would push water.

onfire Oct 9, 2008 12:22 PM

Spooling 0.96AR turbines might be a challege...4" downpipes will help...keep us posted.
