so.... is one injector brand any better than another?
 

42#'s is what I've been told I should go after... doing research though, there are just so many damn choices. How does one know which ones to stay away from.

I've gathered that flow matched is the way to go.

besides the brand, a few other things I'm unsure of is low/high impedance, disc/no disc...

and what are the regulators for? when does one need one of those?

Flow matched is the way to go for sure. You want all your cylinders getting the same amount of fuel.

As far as brands, there arent TOO many actual injector manufacturers.

There is Bosch, Lucas, Siemens, Delphi, Denso, and Standard.

Now, Standard makes injectors for whoever wants to order them by the truckload. Standard injectors are sold under the names Trick Flow, Summit, Accel, Many of the injectors from RC are Standard, as well as Racetronix and FAST.

Low/High impedance is how the injector is opened.

Peak and Hold injectors are "low impedance" being at about 1-4ohm range. An electrical signal is sent through the leads until the injector fully opens (peak) and it stays there for the duration of 1 pulse (hold)

Saturated injectors are "High impedance" being about 12-15ohm. They have a positive electrical current on the coil at all times, making it "saturated" in electricity all the time.

Your car as well as almost all newer cars use a high impedance saturated type injector. Your stock ECM wont know what to do with a low impedance injector.

disc has to do with the mechanism used inside the injector to open and close the flow of fuel. Disk, ball and seat, and pintle are the styles. Lucas and standard are disk injectors, and generally have a more pencil type spray pattern.

there is a 120 also made by standard. But yes, almost all 120's you see are Lucas

great video... very informative... from what I understood from the video, the Bosche's seem to be the best choice... I was a little confused since the narrator of the video didn't say anything about the injectors on the far left (Bosch 24's) and their spray pattern compared to the others... but from the visual they looked good... just a little confused between what's what on all of the Bosches he mentioned...

now.... the only ones that stated they were flow matched were the Lucas's and the last Bosch's I listed above... however the Luca's have the pencil style spray pattern, and I've gathered that's not what I want...

so... I'm still a little confused on which injector would be my best choice...

Standard.

The one on the left is a Bosch Design II, or an FMS, the FMS and old SVO were Bosch II's. If its designated *color* top, its a Design II.

All injector sets we sell are flow matched.


The Precision Turbo injectors are similar to FAST and us, they sell many different brands.

Is there a website for "Standard"?

Between the 83lb and 96lb low impedance injectors which designs are they and how does the turn on/off time relate between the two? Does one have a better spray pattern than the other or one less sloppy at lower pulsewidths? I have heard the 96lb injectors are kind of sloppy compared to the 83s. Do you sell those injectors and do you have them in stock?

The 96's I assume you mean are the Multec ones. Multec injectors are notoriously crappy. A very large portion of our business is replacing the stock Multec's in TPI and LTx cars. I will give them this tho, they have a great spray pattern. Their main problem is very weak coils. Due to their weak coils, they do not work in most LSx applications. unless they are the low Z. we have had no problems with these but you need a low imp. driver

The 83's you refer too are I'm gonna assume the Siemens Deka, these are a good, fast operating injector, that will have no problems at the 4 bar fuel pressure of the LSx.

Are you using an aftermarket ECM or driver box? If not, the new siemens has an 83lb high impedance injector. However I will let you know they are quite expensive at $90 each.

I'm curious... anyone know the ratings on the C6 Z06 injectors? not that I'm looking at putting some of those in my car. But my GF's dad has one and he was curious as to what the ratings are...?

LS7 are 42lb @ 58psi

how much can you drill out a "racetronix" 79lb injector?? can you get it up to say 120lb?

Can't modify the flow rate on the disc injectors :( .

Best option would be to sell them and buy some of the Lucas 120's.

If you are using an LS7/3 intake and rails, I would recommend having us modify your stock injectors to whatever flow you desire.

flow them up to like 50# if so what would it cost?

We can modify LS2/3/7 them to 50lb at 3 or 4 bar, need to tell me which.

Including our full restoration and o-rings for $30 per injector.

Hey Rich, bringing this back from the dead for a few more questions.

I am looking at the 85lb MSD Delphi Low Impedance injectors which I thought in the past few years were labeled as 83 lb injectors? How is the spray pattern and coil strength on these injectors? Yes I will be running a real peak and hold injector driver box so I would hope these injectors would be pretty responsive and snappy at low pulse widths?

Lastly, do you have any of these in stock and can you shoot me a PM with a price?
