Default do I need a vapor vent hose on walbro fuel pump

do I need to drill a spot to add the vapor vent hose on a walbro fuel pump?
the pump I removed had the vapor vent hose on the top of the fuel pump my new fuel pump does not have the hole for it but it looks like I could drill one in the same place possibly. will this work?

Its not a vent hose its a jet pump to fill your bucket and pretty critical to the function of your system. It is not just a matter of drilling a hole for it. Get a pump specifically for your car. I keep them in stock.

The guy's at New Era performance told me I did not need the hose hooked up and I could just take it off, because the new pump does not need it.

Mod your bucket so fuel goes into it without the jet pump. I cut a big hole in the side of mine, and in the bottom to fit the neck of the walbro.
