MAF change recommendations

MAF change recommendations Hay guys,
after installing the new Cam and tune the car, i found the car from time to time the engine goes off when the car in nutral, as far as i'm putting gas on , it doesn't go off. this is not happening all of the time .. but once i setp on the car and reach high RPM, for sure this happens. my mechanic has recommended to change the Mass Air Flow Sensor. any recommendation will be really apprciated.
